And so I think we came across the perfect opportunity. We said that we had some phone calls to make yesterday, and we are excited to confirm that we have been accepted as campground managers for Sturgeon Lake Regional Park About 42 kms (26 miles) from the city of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Canada!
It's fairly far north!
A little closer view.
The campground website is here... http://www.saskregionalparks.ca/ but you have to go to the drop down menu where it says "Pick a Park" and go to Sturgeon Lake.
We have to be there by April 24 and the season officially starts May 1st. We finish up sometime between Sept 15 and Sept 30 depending on the weather at the time. So it's about a five month contract and it allows us to travel for the following seven months! And this particular opportunity includes accommodation, so we will be able to head north in the little blue car and once again leave Sherman in Mexico. We're really excited about it and it should be a fun summer!
Of course all of our RV'ing readers will be making a trip to central Canada to visit us this summer, won't they??!!
ooooh what great news! and i bet that kinda of job will be right up your alley---- congrats!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Been following along here in frigid Saskatchewan for a while now. Would love to buy you a beer when you drive through Regina!
ReplyDeleteWe might take you up on that Ty, and thanks for the offer but I think our route will take us quite a bit west of Regina.
DeleteWell, if you do happen to find yourselves here, the offer still stands.
DeleteYou will have a great time in Saskatchewan this summer.
Thank you for sharing your journey with us cubicle-dwellers.
Ummmm...Kevin Sask would be considered Western Canada. Your part of the world in Ontario is central Canada. Just sayin.....
ReplyDeleteBut congrats in any event.
Yeah, I suppose. Ontario is no longer "my part of the world" though...
DeleteOH! that is Wonderful! Amazing how the good stuff shows up when you need it! I am enjoying your travels so much.
ReplyDeleteOh my. That's sure a change in location. Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteHow cool is that!! You'll have to drive right past our home in Saskatoon on your way to Sturgeon Lake. Hell...we'll even do Ty from Regina one better! We'll make you supper and cocktails!
ReplyDeleteKeep in touch with us and if we are driving right by let us know a little bit beforehand and we would be happy to take you up on your offer.
DeleteHey, that's great news - congrats!
ReplyDeleteConnie & Barry in PA
Just south of my favorite place in the whole province, Prince Albert National Park. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteHopefully we will be able to make a trip or two there during our time at Sturgeon Lake. Hope you can make it by the campground sometime over the summer season.
DeleteVery cool guys! Just checked out their website and "your" little lake looks great! Such nice amenities too. You said accommodation is provided. Is it in an RV or cabin?
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing you at HC. (Sherman is fine....)
We will be given a cabin, so Sherman will be spending another summer alone :(. Looking forward to making a little use of that lake. Looking forward to seeing you two again soon.
DeleteYou guys live a charmed life
ReplyDeleteCongrads Kevin and Ruth, very happy for you!!!
ReplyDeleteCool! Take your bug spray! I spent a week in P.A. restoring a transit bus back in about '79 I think it was. BIG PROVINCE. (P.A. is only half way up the map!)
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing there's an actual road into the camp ground? (OK, that's just silly. Has to be.)
Should be interesting.
Congratulations!
When we are headed though the States on our way back north we will be buying lots of Thermacell replacement kits!
Deletehello friends congratulations for this opportunity. and my best Willing to success. regards
ReplyDeleteWOW...what great news. You two sure go from one extreme to another.
ReplyDeleteWe like to keep things interesting!
DeleteHowdy R&K,
ReplyDeleteBet you have as much fun as you did last summer, but like Bob said about the bugs you better wear LONG pants instead of your shorts!!! Glad you got the position nailed down so now you know what you'll be doing!!! Good Luck!! Too bad Sherman isn't going with y'all...
Hope everything's going great in Guatemala !!!! GO HIKE A MOUNTAIN!!!
Yep, we are going to miss Sherman for sure. It will be nice to not have to try and figure out how we were going to take two vehicles back to Canada though.
