Next stop, Aguascalientes!

You may have noticed that we placed an answer to our "Where are Kevin and Ruth going next?" question above. The answer is the city of Aguascalientes!

We need to be in Albuquerque, New Mexico for Sunday April 7th and so we're going to begin heading north next Monday April 1st.

It's about 317 kms (196 miles) from here to Aguascalientes so it won't be an overly long day. We want to get there somewhat early because we're going to see if we can do a tour of the huge Nissan factory in Aguascalientes. I haven't been able to find a lot of info online so we're hoping if we just show up that we'll be able to get in to see the factory.

And, we have a couchsurfing couple all lined up too so we'll have somewhere to stay.

After that, we'll head towards Torreon and then the city of Chihuahua.

Our expected first day drive north on April 1st.

Oh, while we're speaking of our route north...we're happy to announce that we'll be doing a multi day stop in the city of Denver, Colorado! We're excited about seeing a few new cities on our way north. And new states too! We've never been in New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, or Montana!

But, we've still got another week here. Lots to do including getting Sherman ready for his long wait for us to return!

  2. We have a friend ( old waiter from the Isla ) who is teaching Japanese at the University. HIs name is Hugo and he speaks 9 languages. If you could track him down he will get you the tour. He was hired to teach the Mexicans Japanese so they can work at NIssan. He was here visiting at Christmas and would prefer to be here on the Isla but the money is good there. Wish I had a contact for him for you but there can't be too many people teaching Japanese there. He also lived in Canada for a number of years. Tell him I said hello.

By the way please be sure to say hello to the Pemex in Aguascalientes that we lived at for 4 days the time our radiator died. At least it choose a good place to conk out. We had lawn chairs out, built a fence for the dogs, hey we were stranded. The folks there treated us with noting but kindness.

    1. Unfortunately Kevin couldn't find any reference on the internet to find this friend of yours.

Glad you had a good experience at the Pemex to make up for having the rad go on your motorhome.

  5. There can't be too many guys in that little town that look like that...and have a hot-rod horse, to boot. BTW, I recognize that horse, too, don't I? Doesn't it belong to the magnificent hilltop home you visited a while back?
