Sherman goes for a drive!

And, we've made some blog changes. Most of you won't notice, but we've removed the ability for someone to comment as "anonymous". We were getting a lot of advertising comments, and while the spam filter blocked most of them, they were still a pain in the butt! So, anybody who really wants to comment will have to take the five minutes to register for a google account.

It only takes a few minutes.

Okay, on to our adventures from yesterday!

First, we got our 5 km (3 mile) power walk out of the way, and then it was time to take Sherman for his semi-annual drive! The last time he was driven was in November and he's going to be sitting here for another six months or seven months. So, gave the battery a little charge, got everything stored into "traveling mode"...and turned the key!

Of course Sherman was raring to go and he fired right up just as we expected him to!

I pulled up to the garage here at Hacienda Contreras and put the proper air pressure in all the tires...and off we went.

Nancy took a few pictures of us leaving the campground...

Heading out...

See ya!

Kevin, looking pretty happy to be driving Sherman again!

The open road awaits!

I had changed the front brake pads back in early December and never got a chance to make sure they were working properly. Turns out everything is fine and I really notice a difference in braking ability. The brakes definitely feel a lot more solid! And, we pulled in to a Pemex station and put 500 pesos ($42.50) worth of gas in the tank to freshen up the fuel supply that will be sitting yet another half a year!

But the open road was not to be. I think Sherman was pretty disappointed when we pulled back in to Hacienda Contreras!

The little blue car was looking pretty lonesome without Sherman!

Made it back and got everything set up again. Sherman ran great and you could tell he was ready to head out exploring!

When we arrived back, Tioga George was getting ready to leave. Sure am glad we finally got to meet George and Ms. Tioga!

George and Ms. Tioga, heading out for more adventures!

Ruth, Kevin, Barb, and Sal.

In the evening, we headed out to Chema's restaurant with Barb and Sal. Just a sort of an end of season dinner out because we won't be seeing each other again for quite a few months.

Ohhh! Here's some great news...we're going to be crossing another item off our bucket list while we're in Albuquerque, New Mexico!

What is Albuquerque famous for? Hot Air Ballooning!

And on April the 8th we're going hot air ballooning with World Balloon Company!

    1. It's not the ballon festival until the fall. We are just going for a ballon ride but we will definitely enjoy that.
