We didn't know what to expect, and we were pretty impressed. The museum is housed in a huge new building and it's a very professional, modern display.
Ruth, at the entrance to the museum.
It's official name is The Anderson-Abruzzo Albuquerque International Balloon Museum.
There was one small school group there, but other than that we felt like we had the place pretty much to ourselves.
Ruth...up, up, and away...!
There are a few interactive displays.
This one was very cool...you actually pretend you're the balloon pilot! You have to take off and land on a target further on. the entire thing only takes about 5 minutes and then they score you based on smoothness of takeoff and landing and accuracy. You have a limited supply of propane and the wind changes direction depending on your altitude. Apparently, just like in real life!
Ruth's turn. She beat me by 2 points on a 100 point scale!
This is the balloon basket that carried four men across the Pacific Ocean from Japan to California.
Colorful display of miniatures.
We had a great time at the Albuquerque Balloon Museum. Surprisingly, it is only $4.00 for one adult admission. Great price considering we were kept busy for almost two solid hours! We really recommend this museum!
I sure hope you two get to fly in the morning! Love the header photo today!

It just wasn't in the cards for us. We will make plans to do this again another time.
DeleteThat is pretty neat - never would have thought! Fingers xed for the morning!
ReplyDeleteI guess having fingers crossed didn't help but thanks for thinking of us.
