Just another driving day...

And the good new is, we only have one driving day left. We're almost at our destination!

It was a cold and windy drive yesterday, and we were fighting a strong headwind the entire way. So glad we weren't driving the motorhome.

Our hosts Wendy and Phil made us a big breakfast of eggs benedict, with coffee and orange juice. What a great start to the day.

A great start to the day.

Wendy and Phil.

Thanks for the hospitality Wendy and Phil! I think we'll see more of Wendy and Phil, because they've got plans in the works for their first RV trip to Mexico next winter!

There is still quite a lot of snow on the ground up here. It's melting, but pretty slowly. Even the longer term forecast is all over the map. The current temperature this morning is -11C (12F) and there's a windchill on top of that. Fortunately, they're still calling for a high of 5C (41F), so some more snow will melt today.

Check out this guy's driveway...what a mess!

Brrr.

Miles of nothing.

Pulled in to Saskatoon around 1:30pm. Once again, our readers are the best! Mark and Jean had invited us to stay at their place in Saskatoon so that we can spend today and tomorrow doing our final preparations before heading up to the campground on Wednesday. At least it's supposed to be Wednesday. We have to make a call to the campground board and just confirm that their plan is to meet us there as scheduled.

Mark and Ruth, having a laugh about what size wine glass Ruth should have!

We're going to go into the city today to try and re-activate our "mi-fi", that little cellular device that will probably be our only source of internet once we get to the campground. Hopefully it works!

Our son Alex is 25 years old today! Happy Birthday Alex, I wish we could have been there to help you celebrate!

    1. Many Parks open anywhere from May 1 onwards. They said this is the first time they have had this bad a weather at the beginning of the season so this is unusal for them. Shouldn't be long and we will be seeing nice weather.

  6. guess Canadians are a hearty bunch if they start camping this early. Well they are calling for snow here tonite, totally unbelieveable at this time of the year. No accumulation of course as it is 60 here now but will drop all day. Wish Canada would stop sending that cold front this far south ! :-)

    1. Well, this is an abnormal spring, it isn't usually like this at this time of year. It seems weather everywhere is pretty messed up this year. Hope you will see some nice spring weather soon.
