Anyone want to buy a ZAP?

"What is a ZAP?", you might ask.

Well, a ZAP is a little 3 wheeled electric vehicle. And given that we have a lot of readers who are RV'ers, we thought one of you might be interested in a different kind of tow vehicle, or even something a little better than a typical golf cart that some of you might use at your RV resorts down south.

And we know where there's one for sale!

How's this for different!

Our friend Cheryl with her ZAP Xebra!

Can you picture yourself zipping around in a ZAP? Too funny.

When we were couchsurfing with Cheryl and Mike in Albuquerque last month, we walked through her garage one day and of course this little car kind of stood out! So I asked her about it, and she said it was for sale. It's a 2008 model with only 5,090 miles on it. Cheryl is the original owner and the only driver.

Of course there are limitations to a vehicle like this. It has a top speed of about 40 mph (70 km/h) and a range of about 25 miles (40 kms). So for everyday driving it's not very realistic. But as a tow vehicle, or for zipping around an RV resort, I think it would be perfect. It plugs in to any 120V outlet and recharges overnight. Neat, huh? I bet it gets more stares than a Ferrari!

If you want more info, you can contact Cheryl at "cd.garcia at comcast.net". She's asking $4,500.

Things continue to progress here at the campground. We know now that we'll be 95% ready for the campers to arrive for the long weekend that starts tomorrow evening. Anything not ready are things that are not that important and can wait until next week when most people have gone home.

We borrowed a rotor-tiller attachment for our little tractor and so I got the beach sand tilled and harrowed. The sand looks and feels much nicer now and the beach is ready for the kids to play on this weekend.

Fishing season officially opened yesterday, and we had a few die hards that had to get on the lake the first day. One of our (Kevin's!) duties is to look after the fish cleaning shack. That entails dumping the entrails! When it gets busier, I have to empty the fish guts bucket, probably three times a day. It's pretty disgusting!

Another blue sky day....we've been doing really good with the weather!

  1. Jim says that having to dump those buckets three times a day means you have some really happy fishermen up your way. Love that little car.

    1. Yep, many campers come to this park specifically for the great fishing.

  2. We would put those fish carcasses to good use at our DE cottage as bait and hope to fill up the crab pots for a big Maryland Blue Crabs feast! Barry wants to know what kinds of fish they catch up there?

    1. Lots of pike, a few walleye, and the odd sturgeon!

  3. Looks like that Zap needs to watch out for lions! Can lions run more than 25 miles? If so, the driver of that car could be in trouble... ;c)

  4. Hey Kevin when we had our resort we had an old freezer in the cleaning shack. We lined it with 5 gallon pails line with plastic garbage bags. There was no smell and when disposing all we did was dumpter them in the dumpster or if burying the cleanings, use bio degradable plastic or paper bags. Worked great for us.

    1. It won't be Kevin's favourite job either but I'll bet it won't take long for him to just think of it as any other job!

  7. How do you control the flies in the cleaning shack? That would be my least favorite job, for sure.

    1. We have some kind of solution that is suppose to help with that and the smell, plus it will be emptied several times a day. Kevin removes the buckets and puts them into a big hole up at the "old" dump and then they get buried.

  8. Cute little car for sure, looks like a fun vehicle.
