We never did really tell you about our Canada day long weekend. Surprisingly, the campground was not sold out. But it was certainly busy!
The lower main campground had been sold out, and then we had a couple of last minute cancellations. Turns out that two of our best sites sat empty the whole weekend. We thought it was very strange that nobody asked to move sites.
These three units set up in our overflow area had everything needed for a party! How about that camouflage paint scheme. You'd never find that motorhome in the bush!
This rig had a fancy mural on one side.
It was not as much of a party weekend as it had been on the May long weekend. Many more families, and fishermen. Still, people manage to do a lot of drinking.
Our collection of recycleables. We sorted them and returned them this week. There was $191 there!
It was a good weekend though, and even with the challenges of full septic tanks and stray dogs we managed through it.
Tomorrow is our annual Fishing Derby. It's free fishing weekend in Saskatchewan, so nobody needs a licence or a permit. Our parking and day use areas are going to be packed again! Fortunately the derby is run by a group of volunteers, so we have nothing to do with it other than keeping the place clean and organized.
Okay, we're still waiting for two of our contest winners to respond with their magazine choices. "Bill" and "Life with Lynnie", you need to get in touch with us via email to [email protected]. We'll give you another week (Friday July 12) but we need to hear from you!
Have a great Friday everyone!
Happy Weekend, Ruth and Kevin! May only your drinking glasses runneth over this weekend! :o)Cheers!
ReplyDeleteThanks Paula and Jerry, hope you have a great weekend too! BTW, our drinking glasses are dry and will be dry until we leave Canada in November.
DeleteThat's a lot of thirsty people! :c)
ReplyDeleteYep, it sure is!
DeleteNice bonus on the recycling and good that the campground doesnt claim it
ReplyDeleteIt takes a bit of work but it is worth it.
DeleteLove the camo RV. Can't quite see getting that sucker too far off the beaten path though.
ReplyDeleteNice haul on the recycling! That's danged near a decent wage right there.
Bob, I wouldn't put it past the guy that owns it!
DeleteThe recycling is definitely a bonus, but we do have to work for it.
Hey Bob!
DeleteJust saw your post and have to comment on this...LOL

Hi!
ReplyDeleteSorry about the delay in contacting you, regarding the prize. I just e-mailed!
Blessings,
Lynn
Thank you Lynn!
DeleteLove the picture it looks as though all the mountains are erupting at the same time. Good haul this weekend.
ReplyDeleteIt does doesn't it!
DeleteBeautiful photo of Slovakia. Sounds like the weekend wasn't as troublesome as it first seemed. I enjoyed a quiet but very hot Independence Day here in California.
ReplyDeleteThe weekend was much quieter than the May long weekend but also very much busier.
DeleteHope is starts to cool down a little out there for you. Today is a much cooler day for us here.
Yes, the weeks do fly by! That's alot of recycling...
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the fishing derby!
There always seems to be something to do or coming up and that is what makes the time fly by. It is a cool and overcast day today so not sure how busy the fishing derby will be.
DeleteThey say time flies when you are having fun, so you must be having a whole big bunch of fun.
ReplyDeleteNot sure I would call it a big bunch of fun as we do way more work here than we have fun! The time flys by all the same.
