So we've decided to rent a car for a couple of days and go on one! We've visited beautiful Nova Scotia several times, but there is one part of the province that we've never been to.
And so we wanted to make sure we saw it this time around. There's a circular route that goes down to the city of Yarmouth (pop 6,761) and back up the south shore. And the best part? We're taking our grandson Cameron with us!
Our route will take us approximately 525 kms (325 miles).
Zoomed in a little closer.
We plan on spending the night in Yarmouth (not sure where yet!) and then maybe even a second night somewhere along the south shore. We have no plans other than that, so lets see what kind of adventures we can come across to keep our 2 1/2 year old grandson occupied!
Should be lots of photo ops around this part of Nova Scotia's coast. We'll try and post some pics to our facebook page as we go along.
We're off to pick up the rental car...see you in Yarmouth!
Howdy R&K & Cameron,
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful trip and be careful !!!! Hi, Cameron, you sure are growing....
butterbean
We will Butterbean, thank you!
DeleteThat is a lovely area to visit, I did it twice 1970 and again in 1996 before the digital camera.
ReplyDeleteHave fun as I know you will.
There are now very few areas that we haven't been too in Nova Scotia an this area is one of them, so we will definitely enjoy ourselves.
DeleteBorn in N.S., and been back numerous times, and I'm ashamed to admit I've never been to the south shore. One of these days we'll get that sorted out. Meanwhile, you'll be taking lots of pics, so I'm thankful for that.
ReplyDeleteSafe travels.
The south shore is a pretty area, we have seen part of it already and loved it so you will have to try make a point of coming out for a visit an see it for yourself.
DeleteAwesome header photo.
ReplyDeleteOur friends just left that area and loved every minute of it. Enjoy your adventure.
Thank you, I hope that you will come an visit one day too!
DeleteYou guys are awesome! Have a blast!
ReplyDeleteThank you Janis, we will!
DeleteWeve toured NS a couple of times. My highlights are Digby scallops and all of cape breton. I think cape breton was one of the prettiest places I ever saw.
ReplyDeleteWe loved the Digby Neck but we never tried the scallops while we were there. We have also done Cape Breton twice and both times we loved it, it is a beautiful park.
DeleteNo doubt you will have a blast especially with Cameron along for the first time. Now that is a big memory in the making.
ReplyDeleteIt's just a shame that when Cameron grows up he won't remember this trip but at least he will have lots of pictures to look at.
DeleteI've never been to the south shore either and am looking forward to see it with you. Haven't taken a 2 1/2 year old on a trip in 30 years. Good Luck! HA! No seriously have a great time.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately we didn't get to see as much of the south shore as we would have liked but we have been to some of it before. Taking a 2 1/2 year old makes things a little slower but still lots of fun. We haven't taken a 2 1/2 year on a trip in about 23 years.
DeleteIs it just the three of you? Looking forward to seeing the pics.
ReplyDeleteYes, it is just the three of us!
DeleteOh, sounds good - so happy for you to be taking Cameron along! Many years ago, I took a sabbatical from teaching and we took our two year old grand along with us to tour Nova Scotia while her mommy (our daughter) was in college. Our last stop was in Yarmouth followed by a ferry ride to Maine on the way home. What memories you will be making - enjoy every minute!!!
ReplyDeleteConnie in PA
We are pretty happy about it too! It will be nice to have some time with just him and us. Sure hope you enjoyed your trip as much as we enjoyed ours. That ferry is supposed to be back up and running next May.
DeleteLooking forward to tagging along with all 3 of you!
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy our adventures.
