Blue sky and sunshine

And warm temperatures too. It's been fantastic weather here in Jalisco farm country. They could probably use some rain, but that wouldn't be normal for this part of Mexico at this time of year. Highs of 30C (86F) and lows of 13C (56F).

Perfect.

We've got a great wifi internet connection here at Delia's Trailer Park in Etzatlan. So yesterday morning we took advantage of that to have a Skype conversation with our daughter Lindsey and grandkids Sadie and Cameron.

Sadie (almost 7 months) and Cameron (almost 3 years) on Skype.

When you travel a lot, you gotta love Skype for making sure your grandchildren don't forget what you look like!

Enjoying just relaxing for a change. We read our books in the afternoon, and played some backgammon. We have a sort of an ongoing score tally with both backgammon and yahtzee. Ruth won yahtzee last year, but I was way ahead in backgammon. So far this year, Ruth is winning both, but neither by very much.

Thompson and Luna, relaxing while we play backgammon!

There are four dogs here and they're super friendly. Two of them especially like hanging out with us...as you can tell!

There are iguanas here too.

We can't remember this one's name!

Lots of greenery and big shade trees.

And chickens. When we arrived here, Bonnie gave us a bowl of fresh eggs.

Banana trees.

Here's a great restoration project! Everything is solid and mostly original. Still got the old inline six engine. No idea if it runs or not. Not sure that yellow is my favorite color though.

Sherman, enjoying his time at Delia's Trailer Park.

Two rigs here now!

A pickup truck camper showed up yesterday afternoon. Haven't spoken to them yet though. A young couple, with California plates on the vehicle.

We're going to get up some ambition and walk into town today. When we were here two and a half years ago we bought some delicious, cheap, and tender rib eye steaks at a butcher in this town. Maybe we can get some more!

    1. yes, we really liked it here when we came in Nov. 2011 and that's why we came back and Bonnie is a super nice lady that was another reason for coming back. :-)

  2. Jim said they used to call that engine the Blue Flame. He loved the picture of the old Chevy. I like the pups laying with you guys.

    1. Glad Jim enjoyed the picture. The "pups" here are so friendly, we remember two of them from when we were here before.

    1. We love it here and the town nearby reminds of Valle de Juarez, a nice peaceful and friendly town. Don't know what we would do without skype!

  5. That old truck is the one Doug had to help Samantha with. She couldn't get it running. I think he finally got it going for her. We loved Bonnie's place and the town of Etzatlan. Walked and rode in quite a few times, always dodging the cane trucks on the highway!!

    1. We will have to ask Bonnie if it is still running. No more dodging the cane trucks on the highway, they have now built a really nice pathway into town and it also apparently goes way out of town the other way. We walked on it into town today and it is really nice. Another day we will walk the other way and see where it leads us!

  6. Some how I don't think the yellow was a "stock" colour.
    Looks pretty darned peaceful there.

    1. Nope, the yellow is definitely not the original colour. Yep, it is quite quiet here although there is a bit of road noise but it doesn't keep us awake at night.

  8. Hey there, looks like a great place to rest for a while!
Did you keep your Mexican insurance on the Motorhome?
Those dogs look fun (hehe, they were all laying down).

    1. Our Mexican insurance ran out on the motorhome last year while Sherman was sitting around and we haven't renewed it. I know we are taking a bit of a chance but we are only on the road a short time before Sherman is parked up again. We will renew it again when we come back in the fall and drive him a much longer distance.
