Relaxing by the Lake

(Written April 3, 8:00am)

We didn’t relax for the whole day though. We had to get out and get some exercise, so around 10:00am we headed out for a hike.

Not sure where we were heading or  where we would end up, but we had seen a dirt road on the other side of the lake and figured we would head over that way.

We tried to follow the shoreline at first, but ended up going across cow pastures to get to the road. There was no easy path to follow, and the road ended up going to somebody’s house so we went back to the lakeshore. We did get some nice pics of the area though.

La Presa Corrinchis (The Corrinchis Dam) near Mascota.

This picnic area appeared to be owned by local government, but there was another sign saying it was owned by a restaurant. We could probably have parked the motorhome here as well, but the road was a little steep.

Ruth, enjoying the view.

It's a pretty spot!

Looking back across the lake, you can see where Sherman is parked!

The lake.

Another view. You can see Sherman just below the two blue water drums.

Back at the motorhome by noon.

We relaxed for the afternoon. Reading books, playing backgammon, and I had an afternoon nap!

The restaurant where we are had one table show up all day. They have musicians that come in, 4 guys, and they left early. Then the owners and staff all left fairly early too and waved goodbye to us. I can see where it must be fairly busy here on weekends and that’s probably when they make all of their money. But it’s nice and quiet during the week. Good for us, but not so good for them I suppose.

We’re heading out of here this morning. About 100 kms (62 miles) down to Puerto Vallarta, and then about 20 kms north and inland from the coast to a nice little trailer park called Alta Rose Rancho. We were there about two and a half years ago and really enjoyed it.

  1. Kinda cool that you know ahead of time where all the nice TV parks are. Makes it that much more "comfortable". Happy Motoring.

    1. We know where some of the great RV parks are but much of the time Kevin will find places along the way that are not really RV parks but are beautiful places to boondock, and some of these have turned out to be wonder spots.

  2. I think your spot up the hill gives you a better view. Safe travels - 62 miles sounds like my kind of day.

    1. I agree Jim and Sandie, it does give a better view up here. 62 miles may not sound like a lot but it will take 3 hours to do it in!

  3. That is a lovely spot. Sad that the economy here is such that it is.
