One month down...

And four to go.

Not that we're counting. To be quite honest, we're totally enjoying ourselves as managers here at Cabri Regional Park. And, we have lots of visitors to look forward to!

We had our first visitors earlier this week. Wendy from Moose Jaw stopped by with her friend Rita. They're on their way up to Alaska in Wendy's class B van. They stopped in to say hi for a night on their way through. Hopefully we'll see them again on their way back in a couple of months.

Wendy and Rita, on their way to Alaska!

And on Tuesday, our daughter Lindsey and grandchildren Cameron and Sadie arrive for a two week stay. Obviously we're really looking forward to that. Ruth will be driving up to Saskatoon airport to pick them up. Lindsey's husband Justin has to remain in Nova Scotia to work. We wish he could have come too!

Then in a week or two our Mexican friends Chris and Juan will arrive as they stop in at Cabri Regional Park as part of their great 2014 North American tour. And then we've got blog reader visitors Esther and Steve from Calgary coming around the 20th. And then friends Doug and Nancy arrive towards the end of the month.

The water should rise from here!

In a couple of weeks I'll show you the difference.

The Saskatchewan watershed website says that today is the day they put the plug in the dam! So every day for the next two or three weeks the water level should rise. We're looking forward to seeing the lake the way it should be.

I walked around the park and took a few photos this morning...

Beautiful start to the day.

It sure is a little oasis down here.

Supposed to rain this afternoon, but it means I won't have to put the sprinklers on.

Enjoy your weekend...we will too!

    1. Yes, it will be a busy summer and yes, we get paid for it but it will also be working hard and working every day for 5 months but we are still happy with that.

    1. We agree with you on the family time and we won't see them again until April of next year, so we want to make the most of this time with them.

You know you could just take a holiday and drive up here and visit with us, we have lots of room and you are most welcome.

  5. Boy, it sure has greened up fast! Lovely! I miss that so much here in Tucson. We're dry as a bone! What fun to have so many guests to look forward to. Sure wish we were one of them! Grace (in Tucson)

    1. No, it didn't really take that long to green up but we just aren't sure how long the green will last in the hills, it will all depend on how much rain they get in the area this summer. At least we know that the trees and grass at the campground will stay green as long as we continue to water them.

We wish you were one of our visitors too Grace, we would love to meet you. Who knows maybe next summer.

    1. I know, the time seems to have just flown by. It is amazing the changes in the scenery in that month's time, it is going to be a pretty place to be over the summer.

Guaranteed we will have fun when Lindsey and the grandchildren are here. We are so looking forward to it, just two more sleeps!

  8. I am positive that I have stayed in this park back in the sixties on a Griswald family vacation to the West Coast. I'll always remember the beautiful scenery as we descended into the river valley.

    1. You never know John, it just might have been, although there are several different campgrounds along this river/lake and the terrain would be quite similar. We are looking forward to being able to take a drive/hike in the area to see a little more of the scenery.

    1. Take your time Chris and Juan, you don't want to miss the beautiful sights in British Columbia or Alberta. We'll still be here when you get here.
