We feasted like kings!

The day began with Chris and Juan making a common Mexican breakfast for everyone. Huevos rancheros! Eggs served on tortillas with refried beans and potatoes and salsa.

What a great start to the day!

Cookin' breakfast...

Getting ready for breakfast!

The chef at work.

Delicious!

Later in the morning, we had more visitors! Mark and Jean have been reading our blog for a few years and we actually stayed with them for a couple of nights at their house in Saskatoon on our way north last year. They're in the middle of planning some long term RV'ing this fall and wanted to meet Chris and Juan in case they decide on some Mexican RV travel as well.

So they arrived at around 11:00am and we had a great time visiting for the afternoon.

Visiting on the deck.

Lindsey, wearing my Tilley hat. I think she needs to get one of her own!

Lucky Cameron got an ice cream!

Mark and Jean brought the fixings for lunch. Sausages and fancy individually wrapped wieners and gluten free buns! We grilled them up and put together a few other things for lunch, and we feasted again!

Lunch!

After lunch, we went for a walk to work off some of those calories!
Ruth, Jean, Chris, Juan, Mark, and Kevin.

We checked in on our baby robins. They're hungry!

While we were out for a walk, Lindsey and Sadie and Cameron were down at the "beach" playing in the mud!

Can you tell he had fun playing in the mud??

What a great day we had. Last year we had very few visitors and now we've had three sets of visitors already!

Chris and Juan made dinner too. We didn't need much, and didn't eat until 7:30pm or so. They made us some real Mexican tacos. Really made us miss Mexico and look forward to November when we make it back there!

Here's our favourite pic from the month of April 2008...this huge old tree is in South Carolina and we saw it on our way back to Canada in the motorhome.

  1. Hate to tell you this Kevin, but Lindsey looks better in your hat. You guys are going to be lonesome when everybody leaves.

    1. Actually, that "SOLO" cup was just some garbage that I picked up on our walk and there was some broken glass in it that I picked up as well. Sorry to disappoint you!

  6. Happy you all had a great visit. Next time I'm going to get the guys to do some cooking. Your location and having the house make it a perfect place for friends & family to visit.

    1. Sorry Nancy and Doug, we really tried to convince them to stay longer but like you they had to move on or they would run out of time. Looking forward to our visit with you at the end of the month.

    1. We have pretty good friends ourselves! Thank you, both Chris and Juan for coming and visiting and for the delicious meals that you guys made, oh and for the wine and beer. We had a great time and look forward to seeing you both this winter.

  9. You'd best do a "hat inventory" right around the time Lindsay starts packing up to leave!
