Almost a full house!

It's pretty quiet during the week here at the park. But on the weekends, the place is hopping! Our full hookup campsites are sold out this weekend, and will be sold out for the next three weekends.

Apparently things start to quiet down again after the August long weekend here in Canada (Aug 2, 3, 4).

I went for a short walk this morning and took some photos for you.

Ruth's flowers are doing really well, and she gets a lot of compliments on them!

Hanging baskets in full bloom.

Beautiful.

Now that the lake is full, the shoreline is really nice. You can cruise for 150 miles, so it would be a great spot to have a houseboat!

Lots going on at the park!

The campsites are full!

But we have a shortage of parking.

It sure is nice to see the place busy. Sure, it keeps us busy too with people ordering firewood, checking in for their camping weekend, selling vehicle passes and of course fixing whatever problems might come along. But, we've got two full time helpers as well this year and they're both really good workers so that takes some of the pressure off of us. So far, Friday and Saturday nights have been relatively quiet in the noise and parties department. Sure, there's lots of people sitting around campfires chatting and the odd laughter, but it's a much quieter park than the one we were at last year. More families and less transient young people, so that's a good thing.

Came across this neat little backpack. It's not on sale, but we're going to keep our eye in it because it's such a handy little item. "Little", being the key word!

And then it pops out to be a full size day pack!

  2. I love Ruth's purple flowers -- so pretty! So, do you two have to cook the pancake breakfast for the campers?!

    1. Thank you Emily!

No, we don't have to cook the pancake breakfast. We have enough to do without having to look after that. The seasonals, take turns each week to look after it. It is another fundraising venture for the park.

  3. Nice when the campground s busy, same here as well. But we do really enjoy the quiet times much more.
    The flowers do look awesome.

    1. When it is busy it sure makes the time go by fast. So far everything has been running smoothly with no complaints so I guess we are doing a good job.

I think my Mum would have been proud of me with the way my flowers are coming along. I guess a bit of her green thumb wore off on me.
