Our Oasis on the Prairies

This place where we are working really is a little oasis. Surrounded by the farm fields of the Saskatchewan prairies, you wouldn't even know it exists until you're almost here.

Yesterday, we went for a walk around the hills surrounding the park.

We have visitors with us for a few days, a younger couple from the Netherlands. Bart and Sanna are on a long term tour of Canada with their dog Mara and it's been fun having them here.

Beautiful day for a hike.

Mara is five years old and she's a really good girl.

Not too close to the edge...

Had to do some uphill to get to a view.

Sanna, Bart, and Mara and the view back to the park.

We had a lot of rain last week, but it doesn't take long for things to dry up!

Yep. Just happy to be here!

Guess who?

Our oasis on the prairies.

Bart and Sanna made dinner for us. Sausage and onions, and roast potatoes and mushrooms and salad with blueberries and blue cheese.

Delicious!

This was actually the second night they were here, taken with their camera.

They also keep a travel blog, although it may not do many of you any good because it's written in Dutch. Still, you can look at pictures if you like... http://bartensanna.reislogger.nl/

They're heading out today, off to explore the dinosaur bones near Drumheller and Calgary. But our house will only be empty for one night. We have another visitor coming tomorrow! A friend of ours and long time blog reader that we've known for about five years....but we've never met! Looking forward to this one. Stay tuned!

Our Amazon.com deal of the day? Every RV  should have a digital electrical meter as part of your RV tool kit. Even if you don't know how to use it, you will have it on hand for when someone tries to help you diagnose a battery or electrical problem in your RV.

This one is only $7.88...you can't buy one cheaper, and this is the exact same one that we have in our motorhome.

  3. My browser asks if I want Bart and Sanna's blog translated, so I clicked "Yes". It is kinda funny translation, but I still understand it.

    1. Yes, you can do that. Bart had told us that Google Translate doesn't to a very good job but as you said it gets the idea across to people.
