Well that was a washout!

Man, what a miserable weekend that was. Woke up to wind and rain yesterday morning and it didn't stop until sometime early this morning. We actually had to put the furnace on in our house trailer! Yes, it's still August but the high yesterday was only 11C (52F)!

I think we had three die hard campers here overnight.

But it appears to be over now. Calling for sunshine and 18C (64) today, and then warmer for the next three days after that.

Saturday wasn't too bad. It was overcast and chilly but I kept warm cleaning up the woodshed.

Splitting some of the bigger pieces.

Tidying up.

Things sure do get sloppy and muddy around here with that much rain. We've got a few campers scheduled to arrive today, so hopefully things will dry up a bit before they do.

Have a look at our edition of Travel Photo Roulette. Winner will be announced on Thursday the 28th. You have to scroll down a bit to see the entries. Leave a comment there and tell us which picture you think should win!

Speaking of contests, you may have missed yesterday's post about Cathay Pacific airline. They wanted us to tell you a little about them, and for doing so they've given us a couple of great prizes to give away. Stay tuned for that!

Here's our Amazon.com deal of the day.

A great little Olympus pocket camera, with really good reviews. And it's already a deal at $69.95. But this is a lightning deal, and in less than a couple of hours it's going to be even cheaper. Could be as low as $49.95, or maybe less. Who knows? So you're going to have to check it and see just how cheap it goes for.

We do most of our photography with our larger Nikon, but we also like having a little pocket camera similar to this one for the size and ease of carrying it with us. For $50 or less, you can't go wrong!

  1. Great camera deal for sure. Nice form on the splitting! Hope things dry up for you. Thanks for the sympathy with my blog roll problem.

    1. It was nice and sunny yesterday and more of the same today and the temperatures are rising so things are starting to dry up. Should be in shape by the long weekend providing we don't get more rain before then.

    1. If you had those temps for a day or two all you would be doing is sitting inside with the heating on. It would be better to have something in between too hot and too cold and windy!

    1. Our temperature wouldn't have been that bad if it weren't for the rain and wind but by having those as well, all you would be doing is sitting inside with the furnace going, instead of the AC running!

    1. Not sure at the moment, Amazon's site is a bit messed up but I am sure we will. Thank you, Carl!
