Feel like we're getting behind on things!

Having taken Tuesday to explore, and Wednesday to go into town and do one final grocery shop I now feel like we're getting a little behind on things. Both here at the park, and to do with finalizing our upcoming travel.

But, I just finished reserving the last flight...so we're totally booked now!

We will be flying Virgin America from Seattle to San Francisco on November 4th. They had a flight special priced at $79 ($83 CAN) taxes and fees included for the two hour one way flight. Not bad! Plus, our bags qualify for their "carry on" standard so we didn't have to pay any extra for baggage fees. And even better, I paid for this flight with rewards points earned from our Visa card...so it really didn't cost us anything! Gotta love that!

I mentioned the other day that we had received a special parcel in the mail. Our regular readers will remember last year when Tilley Endurables sponsored our African adventure by supplying us each with sun blocking, virtually indestructible Tilley headwear!

Can you see how well our Tilley hats keep the hot African sun off our faces??

Well this year, Tilley has gone a step further and wants us to tell you all about the rest of their clothing. They make top quality travel clothing, and we received our package the other day. Just a quick preview for now...

You'll be seeing a lot of our Tilley clothing over the next few months. Because the clothing is designed for travel and washes and dries quickly and easily, and we like to travel light anyhow, we're not bringing much more than our Tilley clothing.

Oh...when we were in town yesterday, we went to the bank and picked up our Korean money. The young teller looked like she had never seen that much cash and was having a hard time counting it back to us. Fortunately, they gave us a wide variety of bills, right down to 1,000 won ($1.15 CAN)

50,000 big ones! Worth about $57.40 Canadian.

  1. I'm always duly impressed with your travel arranging frugality. Nicely done. It's been a long time since I've had much of anything that would be considered a real "deal" when it comes to air travel.

    1. Kevin seems to have this flight deal stuff down to an art. It is also one thing that he is very patient about, so when he sees a deal he know it's if it's a good one. And it also helps when we can use points to pay for it!

  4. I'll be interested in hearing what you think of the Tilley clothes. I have a hat, but never really looked at their clothing line.

    1. We were so impressed with the quality of the hats from Tilley we wanted to see how the clothes would stand up. We couldn't believe the selection that they offer. We had a tough time trying to decide what we wanted. So far I love the material, it is ideal for traveling.

  6. Love the 50 big ones! Don't spend it all in one place. I really admire you getting those Tilley hats and now clothing. I still can't justify shelling out the money.

    1. Trust us Sherry we won't be spending it all at once!

Yep, they are expensive but we wanted to see if they are worth it, especially with the traveling that we do. We wanted something that was versatile, light, stylish, and easy to wash and dry. These sound like they cover all those points. So far I am very impressed with the material. Also the pants are guaranteed for life, so as long as you don't change your weight we should never have to buy another pair of travel pants! We will put them through the "Travel with Kevin and Ruth" test this winter, that is for sure!
