Who wants to go camping??!

You can come here. The weather is to die for, and we have lots of empty sites. In fact, they're almost all empty!

That's because technically, we're closed. But if anybody showed up unannounced, we wouldn't turn them away...and they'd have the park to themselves. Peace and quiet, and did I mention the perfect weather?

Yep, we're enjoying blue sky, sunshine, and a forecast high of 28C (83F) today.

I went around and took a few pics of our empty park for you this morning. (By the way, if you click on the picture itself, you can see it full sized!)

The entrance road leading down to the park.

Taken from one of the many hills overlooking the park.

Cabri Regional Park.

Empty campsites. This is the newest section, and we need to redesign it and plant some trees next spring.

This is the most popular section for daily campers.

Some of our seasonal sites.

One of our tenting sites. The tenting sites are actually some of the nicest we've seen. The only downside is after it rains. They're located in a bit of a gully and they take a while to dry up after a day or two of rain.

These sites are mixed. Some are taken up with seasonals, and some are day use campers.

Another view looking back at the same section.

More of our seasonal sites.

Another shot of Lake Diefenbaker.

  1. Really looks nice, but I may have said that before. I'd certainly come out, but that would a bit of a logistical challenge.

    1. So are we Janis, although this nice weather isn't helping to get rid of the mosquitoes, they are driving us nuts!

I hope you have lovely weather on the weekend for your camping! Enjoy yourselves.

  7. Great pictures. Looks perfect. Now if I could just get there from Kentucky over night I'd be right over. That's mighty fine weather for up there it seems to me. Warmer than down here.

    1. Wish you could make it Sherry. Perhaps next year. It is nice to hear that our weather is better than some parts of the States, for Canada that is pretty good. :-)

    1. Yes it is Paul and Marti! We have two washroom buildings still open. One in the Day Use area which hardly is ever used at the moment. The other one I have to clean the men's side as there is still one camper here who uses it so yes, my life is much easier in that aspect!

    1. We are loving it! It is so much quieter now that we have started to see the two owls again. Hoping that we can get a picture of them. I think the baby is pretty much the same size as it's mommy.

  12. It looks beautiful but alas too far away. There is nothing more peaceful as when you have a campground to yourself. It only happens once in awhile but when it does.....Ahhh.

    1. Almost to ourselves, Jane! We still have one camper here but he is gone all day and is only here to sleep so we pretty much do have the place to ourselves.
