Oti took off from work early, and she and Ruth made up a birthday dinner, and a cake!
They both like to cook, and Ruth loves learning how to make local dishes...so they went grocery shopping, and headed for the kitchen...
Ruth and Oti. They're making Oti's version of enchiladas, one of Ruth's favorite dishes.
Ruth, stirring the spicy sauce.
Dinner is almost ready.
While the girls were doing dinner, the guys wandered down to the corner store and picked up a few cold drinks and sat outside in the garden. Paco and Oti have a black lab, and appropriately she is named "Blackie!
Blackie is such a good girl.
"Rub my tummy please?"
Dinner is served.
In the evening, Oti's daughter and her sister and family came over to share the cake. The two younger girls speak very good English, and it's always handy to have some translation available other than our handy English - Spanish dictionary.
Oti's daughter Diana, her niece Divia, and Divia's father Alfredo.
Oti's sister, also Divia, Oti, Paco, and Kevin.

ReplyDeleteIt was a great time and yes, wine is always a nice addition.
DeleteLooks like you had a nice celebration with it Paco, Oti et al!! I'm sure my husband would buy a 60" TV in a heartbeat but you'd have to help rig up a roof strap to carry it cause that's the only place it would fit in our rv!
ReplyDeleteWe had a wonderful time with Paco and Oti, they sure know how to celebrate a birthday.
DeleteKnow how you feel we have nowhere to put a 60" TV in our motorhome either!
That's a very Mexican thing to do, go to the corner store for some cold ones and sit outside while the women cook :)
