And great prices too, so we did some stocking up of our own!
It was a rainy day yesterday, so going out to the booze store was a good way to kill an hour.
Rainy day in Mesa, Arizona.
Truckloads of booze.
So we did our stocking up for the month. The only thing we should have to buy throughout the month is more beer.
On the way back, we stopped at a Harbor Freight store. This is kind of the American version of Canada's Princess Auto. I was looking for a portable air compressor, and I almost bought one, but I'm glad I didn't because I found a better quality one at a better price on Amazon...
I did buy a new 3/8" ratchet for my tool box because my other one was going bad. On sale at half price!
I spent most of the afternoon finally getting caught up on internet stuff. I ordered new glasses for both of us online, and had them shipped to our next Boondockers Welcome host up near Kingman, AZ where we should be at around the 12th or 13th of this month.
Ruth did a couple of loads of laundry, defrosted the freezer, and I did the vacuuming. Good rainy day stuff, and handy to take advantage of 30A electricity. Sherman hasn't been plugged into a 30A outlet in probably three years!
Oh, and I got a haircut too. Thanks Ruth! I look respectable again. Well, almost.
Oh, also ordered a few things from Amazon.com for ourselves. I've been wanting a new wifi antenna. This one has great ratings, and it's at a decent price. Also, no tax to have it shipped to Arizona...
I look forward to reviewing it for you when we get it!
Star made a delicious pasta casserole last night (using gluten free pasta...thanks Star!) and we sat and watched television with them in the evening. That was fun for a change, given that we don't own a television we don't watch very much of it!
Jeff, Star, and Kevin.
Ruth, getting her doggy fix with Pepper!
Well, the cold front has just about blown over, so I think we'll start heading north again. No idea where we're going to be spending tonight. I love that!
Did you get a chance to go to Table Rock Mountain while in Capetown? We had a foggy day but by the time we got to the top the view was magnificent.
ReplyDeleteYes we did and we had a fantastic day for it. www.travelwithkevinandruth.com/2014/03/on-top-of-table-mountain.html
DeleteWell, gigantic booze store = that does the trick!
ReplyDeleteIf you can't find what you are looking for here, then it just doesn't exist! LOL
DeleteGotta love those monster booze stores, love checking out the deals and even new stuff to try.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your travels, no matter where you stay for the night I am sure it will be fun.
We sure loved looking at the prices here! Thought maybe this was heaven. ;-)
DeleteThere is one in Palm Springs as well. Their single malt scotch display takes up about fifty feet of shelf space!
ReplyDeleteDrooling . . .
DeleteYep, I think they had about the same amount of space here for them too! And, yes Chris Kevin was drooling as well!
DeleteI seem to always imagine one of those places in an earthquake. Quite a mess I'd imagine.
ReplyDeleteWe don't even want to think about it, that would be a national disaster, the spilled alcohol that is! I think more than half the product is in plastic bottles, tins or tetra packs now, so it wouldn't quite so bad.
DeleteOur first Total Wine store was in Miami, and it was love at first sight:)
ReplyDeleteNice to know we aren't the only ones that think this way! :-)
DeleteGlad you had enough money left after your visit to the booze palace to buy that ratchet. Thank goodness it was half off... :cD
ReplyDeleteIt's because we try to get great deals on everything else that we can afford to drink at all. :-)
DeleteBoy did you two hit the jackpot with Jeff and Star. You four must have hit it off at first sight. Glad you both have had a great visit. We are headed to Total Wine and BevMo. If you haven't been there, it is a treat too. Buy a bottle of select wines...there are tons and tons of them....get the second bottle for five cents. Really!
ReplyDeleteJeff and Star have been great hosts and yes, we sure did hit lucky with them.
DeleteWhen we buy wine we generally buy the boxes of wine, for us with our limited space and budget we just find that it is easier. Now if they let us buy our second box for 5 cents that would be a fantastic deal! ;-)
hmmmmm with all that variety, I think I would find a few more wine choices than Trader Joe's Two Buck Chuck??

We boondocked at the Black Canyon City trailhead for that very trail last night. We even went for a quick hike on part of it yesterday evening to give our legs a stretch. Today we will hike a little more of it.
