I'll try it out this afternoon if I feel up to it.
Ruth had a bit of a stomach bug yesterday and wasn't feeling 100%. She's fine this morning, but seems to have passed it on to me! Hopefully it disappears as quickly as hers did.
Both our daughter Lindsey and her husband Justin had to work yesterday, but at time and a half or more for working Good Friday, they didn't mind. So Ruth and I stayed home and spent the day with our grandkids.
Fortunately, we had a bit of spring weather! But first, they wanted to watch a movie...
Ruth, Cameron, and Sadie.
Then Cameron wanted to play in the basement. It's an unfinished basement, and he's got a little battery powered John Deere tractor down there that he likes to zip around on. Does he ever go...!
They never had toys like this when I was a kid! Wait until I show you the remote control helicopter!!
Next up, time for some outside play. I brought the parachuting Spiderman kite out, but Cameron isn't really into it. He's a little young I think. He'd rather play in the mud!
Just the right breeze.
Spidey flies pretty good!
Heading for the mud!
Dug a hole.
King of the castle.
There's still lots of snow here. It'll probably still be here in May!
Had Justin's father and sister and her husband over for dinner. Ruth did a ham and scallop potatoes, and I forgot to take any photos!
Came across a steal of a deal on Amazon, and again I think we're going to order this for ourselves! Normally, these gluten free oats are about $8 if you buy one, but they have them on special for $19.48 if you buy the four pack. A great deal!
For some reason, the exact same product on the Amazon.ca website is ridiculously overpriced. Amazon isn't always the best deal...sometimes you need to shop around!
Yaktrax on sale at Amazon.ca...don't slip on the ice! Make sure you order the correct size...
Come on Kevin! You really didn't buy that Spidey kite for Cameron. Who do you think you're trying to fool??? :cD
ReplyDeleteI think when we head back to Mexico we will have to buy one for Kevin! ;-)
DeleteLooks like another super day with the family.
ReplyDeleteI love that kite. I have never seen one like that before. Cool.
We had a great day with them.
DeleteThe beaches in Mexico is the only place we have ever seen these types of "kites".
Did you purchase that kite on Amazon? Our grandson would love it. Isn't it fun to play with the grands....and watch movies.
ReplyDeleteNope, we bought it at the beach in Mazatlan. We have seen them at just about every beach down there but have never seen anything like it here. Kevin even looked on Amazon and he found something similar but it had a little teddy bear like critter hanging down rather that some kind of action figure. Looks like you will have to take a trip to Mexico to get one or have someone bring one back. Hmmm...maybe that could be an idea for a new business! ;-)
DeleteSpiderman looks so happy flying like that! I remember we had one too, but it ended up in a box somewhere, for some reason my son never really got into kite flying.
ReplyDeleteHe does love his remote helicopter though, we still have that one! (can't wait to see what Cameron's looks like and see if they are similar).
Sucks about the flu bug, hope you get better soon.!
Yep, Spiderman was pretty cool looking hanging down from his parachute. Cameron unfortunately wasn't as interested in him either. Maybe he will be when the weather is warmer and he is climbing over snowbanks and doesn't have to wear mittens.
DeleteCameron has a pretty cool helicopter as well and again Kevin has lots of fun with it. Guess you can't take the boy out of a man! ;-)
I get a real kick out of Cameron! He almost ran me over with his tractor. I didn't know they had a basement. Did you shovel the driveway? :)
ReplyDeleteNo chance of him doing that now with the tractor, unless he is trying to do it on purpose. Yep, the basement is as big as the house but it is unfinished.
DeleteNo we didn't shovel but it looks like we may have to tomorrow morning in order to get the kids to preschool providing we can get out to the main road from the backroad their house is on.
Love that you're able to spend Easter with your family, but that snow. OMG. It's piled sky-high! Sure hope it melts soon, and the same for the stomach bug, too. Good riddance. :)
ReplyDeleteSo are we! This is actually the second year in a row that we had Easter with the grandchildren. Lindsey came to Ottawa last year with the kids when we were at my Dad's for the week.
DeleteYep, there is lots of snow and more to come, it really is hard to believe that it is April here. I imagine that there will be lots of flooding this spring once it does start to melt.
Haven't had a stomach bug in something like 10 to 15 years ago. Luckily it didn't last long and I didn't actually get sick so I was happy about that, hopefully it will be another 10 -15 years before I get it again.
Love the spider man kite! Yesterday was cold and blustery here but after looking at all the snow you have, I will take the 48 degree temps. Happy Easter!
ReplyDeleteWe would be happy to take your 48F too! it's Ok though, we are dealing well with it and it certainly helps that we only have to put up with it for a month, not like the people who live here that have had to deal with it all winter long. They really have had one heck of a winter!
DeleteI think Spidey was for you, bet you had fun with it.
ReplyDeleteYep, Kevin had a lot of fun with it! ;-)
DeleteLooks like Ruth is enjoying the movie the most:) I remember playing in the snow like that when I was very young. Now I avoid it like the plaque!
ReplyDeleteIt was a good movie, Big Hero 6!
DeleteFunny how attitudes change as we get older. :-)
