We're doing the milk run today...Halifax - Philadelphia, Philadelphia - Dallas, and Dallas - Las Vegas.
Three flights, plus a four hour time change makes for a bit of a long day. But, before we know it, we'll be back in the motorhome this evening and we'll be out exploring again on Wednesday!
Slept for most of the two hour flight to Philadelphia, and arrived here at about 8:15am. It's fairly warm out, at about 63F (17C), but it's drizzling with rain as you can see from the photo.
Wet in Philly.
We've got a four hour wait here, and then we fly to Dallas, Texas. Only a 45 minute connection time when we get there, so hopefully we're on time.
We end up arriving in Vegas at 6:10pm, and then we've got a short bus ride and a 15 minute walk to get back to Sherman!
Had our last day with our daughter and her family yesterday. Nice to give the kids back to mom and dad!
A few days ago, I had mentioned this toy remote control helicopter that they had in the house. I got pretty good at flying it over the last week, but there sure is a learning curve. It's a neat little unit and lots of fun! Check out the short video I made...
There's a bit of a learning curve to fly one of these, so it's a good thing they make them durable. I crashed numerous times and the thing never broke! It's actually amazing that they can build these and sell them so cheaply, and still make them so they don't break.
The one that I've been flying is actually one of the cheaper ones...it's only $20...!
Or $25 in Canada...
Welcome to PA even if it's only for a few hours! We were in the Philly area over the weekend for a friend's birthday party. Google - Hanover eagle cam - for something to do while waiting. Hanover is west of Philly, towards Gettysburg. So fun to watch the two eaglets as they grow. They also have their own Facebook page. Have a good travel day!
ReplyDeleteConnie in PA
Thanks Connie and Barry...we thought of you when we landed.
DeleteMaybe you were a pilot in a previous life??? ;c)
ReplyDeleteYes...perhaps! I always wanted to fly a helicopter!
DeleteOMG! I forgot to let you fly that quadcopter we ordered last fall. You should have reminded me!
DeleteWe forgot all about it too Dugg! We had every intention of wanting to see it.
DeleteAt least it will be warm in Vegas :)
ReplyDeleteYes! They're actually having a cold front going through Vegas today...but perspective is everything. Cold in Vegas is a high of 71F (22C). :-)
DeleteQuite the weather contrast in PA, sunny and just on the cusp of warm here. With that many connecting flights, you must have got one heck of a deal. At least I would hope.
ReplyDelete$268 CAD ($206 USD) each, one way from Halifax to Las Vegas. Not great, but not bad. There are no direct flights available, so really it's just one more connection than normal. We have lots of time, so better to save the $40 each...
DeleteBack to Sherman and warm weather, gotta love it!
ReplyDeleteYou got that right!
DeleteEnjoy that warmer weather and reuniting with Sherman! FYI, it was 68F in Winchester, England today. :)
ReplyDeleteWe will thanks Dianne! 68F sounds pretty good for jolly old England at this time of year. I hope the skies were sunny too!
DeleteWant one!
ReplyDeleteSadie loved watching Kevin flying it around!
DeleteThe view from your airplane (header photo) looks yucky!!
ReplyDeleteIt was pretty yucky looking but it beats having snow coming down.
