We're going to do some painting today. Two of our newer washrooms were built a few years ago, but they were never completely finished on the inside. So we've taken it upon ourselves to finish them. Plus, we have a helper (our son!) with us so it'll get done fairly quickly.
The other day, we noticed that our boating speed limit sign had come apart. There were some kids playing on it the other day, and we're pretty sure they did something to cause it to come apart. So Alex went out with our employee Kevin to fix it up...
Kevin W. said he didn't mind going in the water.
They had to bring the whole thing back to the workshop to put it back together, then tow it back to the water.
Nice day for a canoe ride. One of the calmest days since we've been here this year.
I tried a new battery in the old mosquito fogger. No go. But I figured that was going to be the case. I think it needs a new ignition module, and I'd bet money that it's discontinued. I'll call the company today. In fact, I found the old owners manual (dated 1975!) and in the parts listing they have the ignition module underlined. I bet that's what it needed when they shelved this thing years ago.
Kevin W. says he knew that it was there, but he says in the years that he's been working here it's never been used.
At least 30 year old mosquito fogger.
And, Alex and I got our "fire engine" put back together. We replaced the broken hoses, cleaned the carburetor and fixed a fuel leak at the same time. Engine fires on the first pull every time now! One of those things that you never want to have to use, but it's here for emergency if we need it...
Our "fire engine". Just a 225 gallon water tank with a gas engine pump attached to it. Looks funny, but it does the job!
A fantastic deal on a kitchen knife sharpener. There's nothing worse than a kitchen with dull knives! This unit has a five star rating from over 600 reviewers...
And in Canada, a good deal on a top quality carry on suitcase...
Nice to have the extra help. :c)
ReplyDeleteYes, it is nice to have that extra help, we will certainly miss him when he heads out!
DeleteActually it looks in pretty good shape. An ignition module may be able to be modified for it. i hate throwing good stuff away. Looks in better shape than the truck Kevin fixed up..
DeleteWe try not to throw things out if we can help it but if we can't get it working then it will have to go, no sense in keeping it around taking up space.
DeleteSounds like the mosquito fogger should be thrown out!
ReplyDeleteI suspect that it will be!
DeleteIt does not look like they exceeded the speed limit towing the sign back into place:)
ReplyDeleteNope, I doubt that they even got close to that speed! ;-)
DeleteThat mosquito fogger looks like something from Star Wars---maybe ask NASA if they have a spare ignition module
ReplyDeleteSeeing that the first Star Wars movie came out in 1977, I think that they designed the weaponry after the fogger because it looked like something from out of this world! ;-)
