There are over 1,850 different species of birds in Colombia!
Yep, that's a different looking bird! It looks like it doesn't have a beak. Strange.
We had an odd deposit show up in the bank account. It took some digging to find out what it was, and it turns out that the province of Saskatchewan has a "low income tax credit" (LITC) that they give out to us poor people. Nice! This one was based on our 2013 tax return. I guess it takes them a while to figure these things out.
The LITC has been available since July 2008 to reduce the taxes of lower income provincial residents. The credit is fully refundable, meaning that a person does not have to pay income tax in order to receive the benefits. And it's paid out quarterly, so we'll get deposits every three months for the next few years. I think we do pretty good for poor people, don't you??
Had dinner yesterday with our Mexico RV'ing friends in their 40 ft motorhome. BBQ'd ribs and fresh corn on the cob. Delicious, thank you very much Tom and Carroll!
Carroll and Tom and their 40" motorhome.
We're in the middle of a heat wave here in SW Saskatchewan. 33C (91F) yesterday and they're calling for 34C (93F) today and 36C (97F) tomorrow and Friday.
Then, a cold front is supposed to move in and only a high of 23C (72F) on Saturday!
Love that bird - I love taking pictures of birds, even bought a telephoto lens for it but most of the time I take the picture then research afterwards. I hope you see that one - pretty neat! We actually have a really great standard of living for those in "low" income brackets. Hubby and I make 1/5 of what we used to, by choice and have a much better standard of living than when we worked long workweeks for someone else and never had a life. If you learn to live lean - you can live on any income well :)
ReplyDeleteAs you know we aren't REAL birders but we sure do love looking at neat and interesting birds so we are looking forward to seeing some of these neat looking birds when we get to Colombia.
DeleteYep, we have learned that if you live a pretty simple life then you really don't need lots of money. I sure wish that we had learned this lesson many years ago.
Nothing like BBQ'd ribs we had them the other night too.
ReplyDeleteWe love being pour people too, no taxes to pay, and bonuses from the government as well.
Not having a house sure saves lots of money and when you live in a very small space there really isn't very much that you need to buy so that's saves you money as well. We sure don't feel like we are lacking in anything and we love our life. :-)
DeleteNice bennie for you poor folk$! :c)
ReplyDeleteEspecially when it was totally unexpected! :-)
