And we couldn't have done it without your support. So this blog post is to say thanks!
Thanks to the many readers who check in every single day, even when the blog post is less than exciting. We try to actively do things every day so that we have something worthwhile to write about and some good photos to share, but sometimes we just have a lazy day. Thanks for reading, even when we're not busy.
I remember when one regular reader told us "we like reading your blog because you actually do stuff". Ever since then, we literally make a concerted effort to try to get out there and "do stuff". After all, you only live once!
Ruth, riding the world's longest zipline. 2.5 kms (8,350 ft) long, at 110 km/h (65 mph).
Fantastic!
And we're finishing up 2015 with a record month in our Amazon affiliate commision. So, to those of you who regulary come back here to click through our Amazon links and make purchases... Thank you so very much! Your support especially means a lot ot us.
It's very time consuming to write a daily blog, especally one that strives to include a lot of relevant and useful travel information. Your support through Amazon purchases makes writing this blog financially viable for us. We enjoy doing it in the first place, so the fact that we can make a small income at no cost to you is a win win for both of us!
And thanks to those of you who take the time to make comments, both here and on our facebook page. Even when the statistics tell us that you're reading, it's nice to get some feedback, or even just a simple hello. And, we enjoy the personal interaction.
Speaking of facebook, we now have 2,640 fans. We think that's amazing!
And with regards to statistics, here's where we're finishing off the year...
Daily unique readers - approximately 2,100
Monthly pageview - 83,000 for December 2015...a new record!
We have a lot of new readers since that Globe and Mail article a month ago. So welcome to those readers, and thank you for following along!
Hopefully we can keep you entertained and informed for the year 2016...we've got some exciting travel planned, and some even more valuable giveaways!
Thanks to you all for a great 2015!

Wow, this stuff just keeps getting cheaper. I've never seen a 128 GB flash drive at this price...
And in Canada, a fantastic deal on a base model Singer sewing machine. If you always wanted a sewing machine, today is the day...
You are welcome, from the reader that has been following you since 2007! whoot!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your continued support Karyn, without people like you we may not have continued writing our blog all this time.
DeleteHappy New Year and hope that 2016 is a great year for you.
Thank You for the blog, I don't get to travel so when I read your blog it helps. Kevin, you and Karen are a part of my daily routine!
ReplyDeleteThank you Ruth, I am glad that we can bring the world to your computer. Kevin and I would like to know who Karen is though, lol! ;-)
DeleteI always enjoy reading about your adventures. Would you write a post about how you Amazon sales work?
ReplyDeleteGlad you are enjoying our blog and our adventures and yes, Kevin can do a post on that one day when we have nothing else too blog about.
DeleteI enjoyed the photo of Cameron and his stomp rocket and thought it would make a nice gift for my grandsons. So I clicked on your Amazon link and bought 2! Thanks for the great idea!

Thank you Doug and Nancy for following along. We are so happy that we were your inspiration and that you got out there and did it. We so loved meeting you and spending time with you. DeleteIt's the one time when I don't mind "following the crowd". Mind you, I guess I've been around for a while.
ReplyDeleteHave fun.
Thank you for following us all these years. As I mentioned in a couple of the other comments, I doubt we would have continued this long with the blog if we didn't have readers like you.
DeleteHappy New Year and all the best to you in 2016.
Guess I'm one of those frequent readers but don't always comment... usually because of bad/slow/limited internet service. Looks like you've had a great year all way round... wishing you the best in 2016.
ReplyDeleteThank you for following along. We are much the same when it comes to comments on other blogs. We don't always have good internet and also only like to comment when the comment is a worthwhile one.
DeleteWishing you and Bill all the best in 2016 as well. Have a Happy New Year.
I read your blog every day and enjoy going along on your adventures. You have a unique way of writing that gives a lot of interesting information without being too wordy and long. Your pictures are awesome and compliment your blog perfectly. Love all your favorite photos you've been posting, but today's is my favorite! Glad it made the list. Happy 2016! May your travels be safe and your joys many.
ReplyDeleteThank you Lori for the compliment. Kevin tries hard to keep them short because we know that many people lose interest when they become too long, at least we know that happens to us with some blogs on occasion. There are times when a long post is necessary though, we just try not to let that happen to often.
DeleteHappy New Year to you and wishing all the best for 2016.
Have been following yall since day one and we have enjoyed both of yalls visits. One day we will surprise yall. We have moved into my deceased Brothers house which is just around the corner from the other house. We sold both of those lots but we still have plenty of room for Sherman. Also if yall would rather, Stay down stairs with full accommodations. Still lake front..Hope 2016 will be a great year for yall. Always Welcome
