But that doesn't stop kids from having fun! Our grandkids proved yesterday that mud can be as much fun as water!
A little dirt never hurt anyone...
Creatures from the mud pit! Too funny.
While Lindsey was playing with the kids in the mud, Ruth was busy cleaning up another area of brush. For many years, the leaves were simply blown into the bottom of the hedges. We're slowly getting the whole park cleaned up that way, and we've found that when it's done, it makes it all the easier to clean up in following years. And it looks so much better.

My project in the morning was to get our "fire engine" ready for the season. It's just an old boat trailer with a 200 gallon water tank fitted on the top, and then a gas powered pump. So I filled the water tank, then filled the gasoline tank, and pulled the rope. Which promptly broke on the first tug!
But I had some replacement available so I got that changed and got it fired up. Works perfectly, so although we have a lot of water outlets around the park, we also have this should we ever need it. I'll fire it up once every couple of weeks or so just to make sure it's always ready.

Looks like we've only got the morning to get stuff done today. Another rain system is supposed to arrive before noon and dump another inch or so over the next 24 hours. Well...at least things are green!
Happy Memorial Day Monday to our American friends...enjoy your long weekend!

Sony 32 GB SDHC memory card for most cameras...cheap!
Love the picture of the kids in mud, so many parents don't let kids be kids anymore. Nice to yours does.
ReplyDeleteThey loved it! Lindsey said they played in the mud for about an hour and even then they wanted to stay in it for longer. :-)
DeleteKids and mud go very well together. And as a bonus it builds up their immune system. Another bonus is the fact that you get to hose them down later. And then they sleep like little lambs. Sunny weather here now!
ReplyDeleteYep, they go together really well and kids are made to be washable. ;-)
DeleteThey didn't like the hosing down though, the water was too cold!
HAHAHA...those kids were having so much fun. Good for them.
ReplyDeleteThey were having a ball!
DeleteLindsey is up for mom-of-the-year! How fun! and grand dad can test the pressure on the little fire truck when the fun is over.
ReplyDeleteLindsey should be, she does so many fun and cool things with Cameron ans Sadie. They all have a great imagination.
DeleteThey had a pail of water and some sponges to wash down with, the water from the hose was too cold for them.
Too much fun playing in the mud, have not done that for quite a while, lol...
ReplyDeleteYep, they had ball, not sure that I have ever done that, maybe I should have gone and joined in the fun too!
DeleteI think I would use the fire engine to hose down the kids after the mudfest!
ReplyDeleteThat would work if the water in the fire engine was warm, they didn't like the cold water from the hose pouring over them. I had to get them a bucket of warm water instead.
DeleteJust the sweetest thing ever!!!
ReplyDeleteIt sure was! :-)
DeleteYes, lots of work go into making a campground into a great campground. :-)
ReplyDeleteWe keep working at it and each year is a little better than the last.
Looks like the 'Toddlers Mud Run' of Cabri Park!
ReplyDeleteIt does rather doesn't it! :-)
