Before and after

There are a lot of hedges here in the park, and most of them have never been looked after. At least not for many, many years. So over the past three years, we've been slowly cleaning them out and cutting off the dead stuff and trimming them back.

Ruth did a bunch of work on one messy looking section last week. It was a big job.

But what a difference!

Before

 After.

Before.

After.

These hedges are supposed to be nice and bushy. It'll take a couple of years of trimming and regrowth before they will look nice again. In the fall, we'll cut them down to six feet or so, and the growth will start to come out on lower branches next year.

Coho the cat. He plays hard, and then crashes. Sleeping like a baby!

Our employee Valine has a little blow up boat with an electric motor and she took Ruth out for a spin yesterday evening.

The water was nice and calm!

I looked at the Amazon deal of the day today, and I can't even figure out what it is supposed to be used for. Sure does sound fancy though!

  1. Basically, Cricut is to 3D printing as the incandescent bulb is to light emitting diodes...

  2. Such a well deserved break on the lake for Ruth. Btw, that view is one I never tire of. May have to see it for myself one day!

    1. It was a nice way to relax and it is funny but that is the first time that I put on my swimsuit here and went for a swim , in all the time we have been here! :-)

I am thinking that you are meaning the view of the rolling hills and lake here at the park. You know that you and John are more than welcome to come for a visit, just in case you set out on a road trip across the prairies.

  3. I wish all the parks would remember to trim bushes and trees.
