Pics from the last few days

It drizzled on and off until about noon yesterday. So we didn't get much more than the three inches of rain that I had reported. But, it was sure a lot of water and it did some damage to our roads in the park.

Yesterday morning, Ruth and I went for a walk in rain.

Yep...lots of water!

Just over 3".

And it was wet and chilly. High about 15C (60F) and windy.

The roads turn to mud when they get this saturated.

And some of the campsites will take a while to dry out.

Road erosion.

This section is really bad.

This is for you, Doug and Nancy!

Our garbage cans are going to float away.

Things sure are nice and green though. We've probably had about 17" of rain in the last two months.

But unfortunately it has done little to help the water level in the lake.

The problem of course, is that this lake is about 200 kms (120 miles) long. And up to 4 miles wide at some points. So it takes a lot of water to make any kind of difference. So even if it pours 3 inches in our area, that rain and runoff has to fill up a huge body of water. It might have risen an inch or two as a result.

Meanwhile, Coho naps in an empty box.

Or, where ever  he feels like it!

  1. Sure could use some of that rain in these parts. We're parched here.

  2. I guess the lawnmower will get a good workout soon... Cats always seem to find the comfy spots.

    1. No doubt it will. Last year it didn't get used too much and this year it's getting a real workout. Coho seems to find some of the strangest places to sleep.

    1. Much of it is already dried up. It doesn't normally take very long to dry up here. There are still a few sections in the park that are a bit damp. That sounds like the temperatures we had here last year.

  4. I'm not sure you'll be able to give Coho up - such a cutie! I like Ruth's boots - great color. Sure to cheer you up on a rainy day.

    1. As much as we enjoy Coho, we don't want to travel with him. Sounds like we will have him back here next summer though.

Got those rubber boots at the Thrift Store earlier in the season for either $3 or $5 can't remember which but obliviously a buy and I must have known I was going to need them this year.

    1. So do we, you can't change the weather only your attitude towards it! It was nice on Monday to have an actual "day off" sorta speaking.
