Three inches of rain!

It's still raining.

I woke up a couple of times during the night and could hear the rain coming down. The rain gauge out on the porch says we've now had 3" of rain since yesterday morning. That's a lot of water. The park is pretty waterlogged!

With that much rain, the road in and out of the park is pretty much accessable by 4 wheel drive only. I'm supposed to go to a meeting tonight, but I doubt that the little blue car would make it up the hill!

Today is Amazon Prime Day. Sort of like Black Friday on steroids. The one day of the year when Amazon treats it's "Prime" members to all kinds of dirt cheap deals.

Some interesting statistics out a couple of months ago say that an estimated 50% of all U.S. households are now Amazon Prime members. That's amazing, and almost hard to believe. And 70% of all households earning over $112k per year.

But, I have to admit that if we were a normal family living in the U.S., we would probably belong to Amazon Prime as well.

Look at some of the ridiculously cheap deals out today ...

The popular "Instant Pot" presure cooker

Coleman Portable Road Trip Camping Grill

GoPro Hero Session Bundle Pack

And even Canada gets in on the action. However, it's hard to justify being a Prime member on Amazon.ca here in Canada. It's $80 to join, and really the only benefit you get is free two day shipping, and even then only on "Prime eligible" products. Of course it does also enable you to take part in Prime day deals, and there really are some deals if you can justify being a Prime member for a year.

Check out this laptop deal for Canadians...

    1. Everything is already drying up! :-)

Years ago when we bought our Weber Q grill, we had thought about one of those Coleman grills but then we read the reviews and had lots of people tell us how good the Weber Q was, so that is what we bought and we love it!

  3. Guess with all the rain the lake is filling up

    1. Not really! The lake is about 225km long and it's widest part is 6km so it would take a LOT of rain to make a difference. It did go up a bit somewhere between 1 - 2 inches, so in the whole scheme of things not very much. :-(

  4. Well I hope the boaters get a break with the water levels rising...

    1. It only went up about 1-2 inches so it really won't make a big difference for the boaters. They are getting the boats in though, they just have to do it very carefully.

  5. Please send some of your excess rain to the southwestern US, we can sure use it down here. That ASUS laptop price is amazing---just $215 USD!

  6. We're in Ashland WI, and have seen some pretty bad storm damage in northern Wisconsin from that severe weather. Lots of wind, rain, lightning and thunder, and flooding. Roads and bridges washed away. Whew! Us Californians aren't used to that!

    1. Yes, we have been hearing about all the bad weather in that area and the flooding that they are having. It's incredible the power that water has and the damage it can do.
