Of course there's going to be lots of daily blogging going on starting tomorrow when we fly to Spain!
We really enjoyed Christmas morning with the kids. At 3 and 5 years old, they are definitely at the right age for Santa Claus. That's the main reason we came here, and it was so much fun watching them open their presents.
Ruth's nephew is house sitting in the area, and he invited a group of us for Christmas brunch, but unfortunately he wasn't feeling well so we put it off until Wednesday.
Beautiful home on the Ottawa River.
With a huge stone fireplace.
One thing we haven't enjoyed is the winter weather. In the two weeks we've been here, it's been everything from bone chilling temperatures to snow and sleet and freezing rain and everything in between. And today, they're calling for more of the white stuff.
But, sometimes you have to make do with what you've got, and Ruth even spent some time outside with the kids.
Cameron (5) is such a cute little guy.
And Sadie (3) is so much fun to have around. A really smart little thing too!
Of course, we're the grandparents so you'll have to excuse us if we're a little biased!
"What's with all this white stuff?"
But, the white crap will all be gone for us come Monday morning. Temperatures in Barcelona, Spain are expected to be around 14C (57F) with sunny skies for the whole four days we're there. Perfect for exploring the city.
We lucked into a fantastic deal on AirBnb for accommodation. We'll tell you all about it when we arrive there!
Happy New Year...we hope you enjoy your evening ringing in the new year!

We loved Barcelona, four days is perfect. We did the hop on hop off bus from the city center and it was a great way to see the sights and get the lay of the land. Go early to Park Güell it was one of our favorite places. Peter wrote about it in his blog. Happy New Year to you both.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info Shelagh. Not sure that we will do the hop on hop off bus but you never know. Park Guell is definitely on our list though. We have already been checking out your blog posts.
DeleteHave fun! Land of cheap beer and wine, I found lots of great cheap wines at the 2 Euro mark at the grocery store.
ReplyDeleteWe are especially looking forward to the cheap wine! :-)
