What have we been up to...

We finally had a nice spring day. Yesterday was up to about 20C (68F) and mostly sunny although there was a bit of a wind. You can tell that winter is over in this part of the world, but April in Ottawa is a bit of a wildcard. Sunny again today, but only a high of 11C (52F).

Saturday morning, Ruth and I took our grandson Cameron out for his birthday.

His birthday was actually April 1st, but we were overseas at the time. We never arranged for a gift at the time because he's got enough toys and games and really doesn't need any more physical gifts so we decided to just spend some time with a six year old kid!

We decided to take him to a movie! At the local theater they have Saturday morning family movies on the big screen for $3.00 per person. We went and saw E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. Fun movie. Of course Ruth and I have seen it before, but it's probably been 30 years!

Then, we took him out to lunch for pizza. Every kid loves pizza. Of course adults do too. So we enjoyed our time with Cameron, and he seemed to enjoy spending some time with Grandma and Grandpa as well.

Saturday evening, we went and spent some time with my longtime guy friends and their wives. What a fun evening we had. We only see each other once or twice a year, so it's always fun to get together and almost all of them were there. Great times.

We got a package delivery the other day...

A new sewer hose for Sherman!

Sherman was looking a little out of sorts because we're leaving him behind for another five months. So we bought him a new sewer hose! The old one had split in the middle when our motorhome exchange friends were with him. They had bought a gadget to splice it together, but it didn't work that well.

We figure we've had the last one for 8 or 9 years. So with that kind of longevity, we bought the exact same one again. Plus, it was on sale at Amazon for $35 CAD ($27 USD), and that's the cheapest I've ever seen it up here in Canada.

A sewer hose tends to last a long time with us because we never leave it hooked up and lying in the sun. We only hook up the sewer hose when we need to empty the tanks.

Sherman, in his storage space at our daughter's house.

Had a short visit with my side of the family yesterday afternoon as my sisters, mother, nephew and our son and his girlfriend came over.

Up to Ruth's dad's today where we'll spend the next two nights. Thursday is coming up really quickly and we'll be on the plane to Saskatchewan. We're actually kind of looking forward to getting back there!

  2. I'll second your choice of the Rhino stinky slinky. I replaced our original with a Walmart cheapskate version while n Alaska, it didn't even make it home. Enjoy the family!

    1. Nice to hear that you are also happy with the Rhino Flex hose. If look after well, it will last a good long time.

    1. Sherman deserves it! :-) Wait until the fall and he will be getting some more loving care before we leave for our trip south.
