We were only 22 years old at the time. Seems awfully young to be getting married, doesn't it? Especially since we had only known each other for 14 months or so! But, some things were meant to be, and here we are still carrying on.
I told Ruth when we got married that she would never be bored! How true that was.
May 12, 1984, signing our lives away to each other!
In celebration, we have a couple of steaks to throw on the grill this evening, and there might even be a bottle of wine involved!
Really windy day yesterday here at the park. And it continued through the night and it's still windy this morning. It's causing a bit of havoc with our leaf cleanup and has blown some leaves back into areas we had already cleaned. Oh well... we had been ahead of the game.
Nice and warm though... calling for a high of 28C (83F) today.
I got all the leaks repaired yesterday and the water is now turned on to the park. I can start getting the bathroom buildings in shape now.
We've been getting some road work done. There was one section that kept getting washed away when it rained really hard, so we've built some gullies and put heavy stone in them. Hopefully that will help, but we won''t know for sure until we get some more heavy rain.
I went down to take a photo of our owl baby, but it was being shy. Mom was still up there. I can't believe how the nest even stays there when it's so windy...

Happy Anniversary! Wishing you many more years of wonderful adventures together.
ReplyDeleteThank you Lori! I am sure there will be many more adventures ahead. :-)
DeleteHappy Anniversary to you two, and here is wishing you many more.
ReplyDeleteIf an owl nest can stand up to those winds sweeping across the prairie, maybe we should hire owls to build OUR Homes.
Thank you Dee!
DeleteMost Great Horned owls don't build their own nests, the steal other birds nests and than maybe add a bit of feathers to line it with. They will try to find whatever they can, even an old burrow in the ground to avoid making a nest. Only on very rare occasions will they build their own.
Happy Anniversary! 33 years is amazing, definitely an adventure.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much!
DeleteHappy Anniversary #33 to you both and wishing you many, many more!!! Love the owl's expression!
ReplyDeleteHappy 33rd Anniversary! So nice when you find a partner that likes to do what you like to do :)! Lyd
ReplyDeleteThank you Dwayne and Lyd! And yes, it is nice to find someone who likes to do the same stuff, at least for the majority of the time.
DeleteHappy Anniversary. Thirty three years of adventures and many more to come.
ReplyDeleteThank you Contessa! Hope both you and Colin are staying dry and that the water recedes quickly so you can get back home again.
DeleteHappy anniversary, K&R! We will celebrate our 32nd later this same month. And we beat you; we'd known each other only one year + 2 weeks when we tied the knot! Guess some things are just meant to be, right?! :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you Emily! Happy Anniversary to you both as well. You didn't take long to know that you both found your soulmate as well. Yep, some things are just meant to be. :-)
DeleteHappy Anniversary and many more exciting years to come.
ReplyDeleteHappy anniversary. I agree with Dee, maybe we should have owls build our homes.
ReplyDeleteThank you Rita!
DeleteYou'll have to look at my reply to Dee because they don't build their own nests.
Happy Anniversary!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Yvette!
DeleteHappy Anniversary to the both of you, may you have many more of those special days to celebrate!

DeleteHappy Anniversary! 33 years is a wonderful achievement in this day and age.
ReplyDeleteThank you Ellen! We agree, it is a wonderful achievement in this day and age but anything good usually takes a bit of work. ;-)
DeleteHappy 33rd to you both. And they said it wouldn't last. What do "they" know. Hehe
ReplyDeleteThank you Paul and Marsha! How did you know, a few people said it wouldn't last?! We sure proved them wrong. :-)
DeleteHappy Anniversary, have been following your adventures for just a short time, my husband and I will be celebrating 40 years together tomorrow, where does the time go, seems like just yesterday!! Cathy
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary! 40 years is quite an accomplishment, congratulations. Yes, the time really seems to fly by.
DeleteHappy Anniversary and sorry to be late.. I hope the steaks we're good!
ReplyDeleteNo problem, and thank you for the wishes. The steak was delicious and so was the wine. :-)
DeleteHappy 33rd Anniversary to you both, Kevin and Ruth! We continue to follow your adventures and now that we've been fully retired for 2 years, we are on the road a lot more! No RV planned but we're doing home exchanges and many other adventures. Your blog is still very interesting, keep up the good work. Hugs, Cheryl & Mike
ReplyDeleteThank you Cheryl and Mike! Glad to hear that you are both fully retired and out there enjoying life and all the adventures along the way. We still think about the wonderful time we had with you both and want to head back to New Mexico again, who knows maybe even next spring.
DeleteLooks like he kept his promise to never be bored. Congrats.
ReplyDeleteHe most certainly has!
DeleteHappy Anniversary to you both.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday: You are an ideal couple; you both like the same things. We know couples who one wants to travel and others is a home body so they spend their retirement be miserable. cheers T and C PS we just past number 54 Years.
ReplyDeleteThanks Tommy! Yes, it is great that we like "most" of the same things and that we enjoy doing them together. We know people like the ones you are describing but they aren't miserable, they just do some of the things on their own instead.
DeleteSorry for my typo; I really did mean Happy Anniversary. tom
ReplyDeleteWe knew what you meant! ;-)
DeleteHappy Anniversary to you both! You both have led a very interesting life so far!
ReplyDeleteThank you Brigitte! We like to think that we have. :-)
