Oh, I haven't mentioned our workcampers lately. Barry and Jeannie showed up here in mid June with their motorhome. They were readers of this blog, and applied to come and work with us when we advertised the opportunity last fall.
It was a great idea to get a workcamping couple to come and run our front gate. It's taken a lot of pressure off Ruth who used to have to go and relieve the summer help while they took scheduled lunches or breaks. And, we've had years when the people we have hired to run the gate either quit or got fired, and so Ruth had to take over.
So this is working out much better for us, and for the park.

And our summer help Kevin is doing really well too. He worked here the first and second summers we were here, and even though he's not able to put in full time hours (he's a website designer who works from home), he doesn't need much guidance from us and just gets the job done. Again, it takes a lot of pressure off us, so it's a great summer so far in that regard not having to deal with any employee issues.
Oh, and did I mention the weather? Yes, I guess I did. Well, it's hot... but that's okay, it's not humid at all...
Hot!
For those of you who are metrically challenged, those are daytime highs of between 87F and 97F!
And so, we have eight water sprinklers running full time throughout the park to keep things green. And it's almost a full time job just moving them around three or four times a day!

Great deal for an all in one toolkit for home or RV...
Glad Barry and Jeannie are on board. I am sure they are doing an outstanding job.
ReplyDeleteWe are happy to have them here and giving us a helping hand. They are doing a wonderful job! :-)
DeleteNever been to North Dakota, somehow I imagined it would look like that.
ReplyDeleteIt reminds us of Saskatchewan in some areas!
DeleteI can't believe it is that hot there! We are in North Carolina for now for medical reasons, and daily highs of upper 80s to around 90 are the norm, but you're so much farther north! But we do have humidity, and that makes things very uncomfortable. Also nearly daily late afternoon thunderstorms. Fortunately, no mosquitoes yet! They usually arrive late summer and continue through fall. Enjoy your summer!
ReplyDeleteYep, it gets hot here. In fact we are almost considered to have desert like conditions, we even have cactus growing here. Thankfully we rarely get the humidity and this year no mosquitoes to speak of, not like last year where we had to lather ourselves up before even stepping outside.
DeleteHope you get a chance to get away from the hot humid weather in North Carolina soon.
Sure is nice to have good help , makes life so much easier and enjoyable. Love the hot weather.
ReplyDeleteIt sure is nice and we are appreciating that extra help.
DeleteLooks like our hot weather is heading your way.
ReplyDeleteNot heading our way, we have been having it for over a week already but we will happily take more of it! :-)
