Visitors, and a project almost finished...

Had an email a couple of weeks ago from blog reader Nancy and her husband Larry, a couple from Washington state who were coming through the area and wanted to stop in and say hi. Of course! We love getting visitors here at the park.

So Nancy and Larry arrived with their big diesel pusher motorhome... certainly one of the bigger rigs we've ever seen here...

We had them over for dinner on Wednesday evening, and then they had us over for dinner Thursday evening...

Ruth, Kevin, and Larry. They did big rib steaks on the grill. Yummm!

Ruth, Nancy, and Larry.

They took off this morning, headed east towards Quebec City. Good for them for venturing into the province of Quebec... not many Americans do that! From there, they'll cross back into the U.S. and visit Maine before heading south. They have a place in Arizona where they spend the winter.

So that was lots of fun... we have another American visitor coming to see us in August!

We've almost finished off our little landscaping project by the main bathroom. Somehow, Ruth and I both miscalculated on the number of patio stones we needed. Not quite sure how that happened, but we were both standing there when we figured it out. Went to install them, and we were two short! Oh well...someone with a pickup truck will bring us two more.

And then we just have to install the outdoor shower... and it's done!

Here's some before (or during!) and after pics for you...

The main idea, besides just making it look better, was to get people to rinse off sand and mud without going in the bathroom to do so.

Later in the season we'll get some top soil and plant some grass seed.

Busy weekend ahead... only four empty sites...

  4. Had such a nice visit with you two!! The park @ Cabri is beautiful. It is obvious you put a lot of work in it. You were so hospitable!! Thank you for taking time off your busy schedule to visit with us & help us strategize the rest of our adventure across the beautiful Canadian Provinces! I hope I am successful with this... attempting to send those pictures we took of you.

    1. Yep, we think it really made things by this bathroom much better. Once the outdoor shower is working we hope that it will also help to keep the mud and sand out of the bathrooms, only time will tell.
