We're past the half way point...

We're now into the second half of our summer work season. Yesterday was the official half way point. The next month will go by fairly quickly because the park is busy, and then things will start to quiet down as summer harvest will start in mid August and a lot of our clientele will be hard at work.

September typically drags for me, but we've got a few projects on the go here to keep us occupied during the last month of the season.

Ruth's brother Colin and his girlfriend Brenda headed out on Wednesday about lunchtime. They're going east back to the Ottawa area. We were pretty busy while they were here so we didn't get to spend a whole lot of time together, but it was still a nice visit and we're glad they came to see us.

Colin and Brenda, about to hit the road!

Our summer employee Kevin came down from the shop the other day to show us what he found up there...

Big bull snake.

We get a lot of bull snakes here at the park. This one is about 5 ft, but they can grow as big as 8 feet, although I've never seen one that big. They're not poisonous, but can give a nasty bite if you make them angry. Otherwise, they are quite happy to head away from people. This one was pretty docile.

Busy weekend ahead... not sold out, but not many empty sites either!

The popular and highly rated Coleman Screen House has dropped in price again. These typically sell for between $150 and $180, so this is a pretty good deal...

  2. Now it's just a downhill slide for you. Enjoy the rest of the summer.

    1. It may be downhill time wise but certainly not work wise. We are into our busiest part of the summer camping season and we are pretty much working non-stop at the moment!

  3. Is snake hunting a requirement for summer help? If it is, I'd rather not work there... :cD
