Pretty much right on schedule. This is our fourth year closing the park up, so we've got it down to a science now. The bathrooms are all winterized and locked up, and today I'll get the oil changed on the equipment.
Yesterday, I gave everything a good power wash...
Yes, it was a little chilly yesterday!
And Ruth has been doing some more "yard work", cleaning up a row of brush in behind one of the rows of campsites...
Before.
After.
Not quite the same view, but you get the idea. Looks much better.
Woke up yesterday morning and we were sitting having our tea and hot chocolate when I noticed some movement out the front window...
Right in our front yard!
We were reminiscing a bit yesterday, and there are certainly some things about living here at the park that we're going to miss. The wildlife we've seen here has been much better than we ever would have thought.
They are pretty skittish though...
Ruth has been busy sorting out things in the house and doing a final cleanup. The house might be gone by the time we get back here in the spring, but then again it might not be. So we want to leave it clean. And, because we don't have the motorhome with us, we'll be leaving a couple of boxes behind and then we'll pick them up when we pass through here next May.
And with that, we better get out there and get it done. Enjoy your Sunday!

Another adventure begins! Can't wait to follow!
ReplyDeleteYes, another adventure begins and we are so looking forward to it!
DeleteAnother season wrapped up, and the next adventure set to begin. We're looking forward to the stories! Safe travels!
ReplyDeleteYep, another season is behind us and it was a great one to finish up on.
DeleteWe look forward to finding new places to explore and then writing about them.
Safe travels to your next destination! It must feel strange to know that you won't be park hosts next summer.
ReplyDeleteThank you Emily! Yes, it is definitely going to feel very different knowing that we won't be managing the park next year. It will be the first time in five years that we won't be managing a campground.
DeleteYou two have such a wonderful work ethic!!!!! Safe travels!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Connie and Barry, we like knowing that we did the best job that we could either there or anywhere else. I guess we can thank both of our parents for being such good examples. :-)
DeleteYay, another year completed. Can't wait to see more 'travel' blogs.
ReplyDeleteWe are looking forward to writing more "travel" posts as well! :-)
DeleteDo either of you have some sad thoughts about leaving? It has been fun following along and seeing how you have changed the park. Great job!
ReplyDeleteYes, of course we have some sad thoughts, Cabri Regional Park has been our home for the last 4 summers and we have made some good friends there. We will make it back there again next May for a short while before heading north.
DeleteGlad that you enjoyed seeing what life was like for us at the park and all the different things that we worked on there and improved upon.
I know you're going to Moose Jaw tomorrow -- in the motor home ... or ???
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on another successful summer.
No, we didn't get to Moose Jaw in the motorhome because that is back in Ottawa at our daughter's where it has been now for the last year. We had a friends car that we borrowed at the end of April when we arrived so all we had to do was drive it back to her now at the end of the season. We sure are lucky to have such good friends!
DeleteThat is a big yard to work on. The excitement must be growing for the next adventure:)
ReplyDeleteYep, one heck of a big back yard!
DeleteOur feet are so itchy, you could not even begin to believe it. We are sure looking forward to all the new adventures that we are going to have in the next year.
Another summer all wrapped up, now to explore new places and new faces, travel safe and enjoy the journey.
ReplyDeleteYes, we have another season swept under the rug! Looking forward to some new adventures now. :-)
DeleteSad to leave but wonderful to start the next adventure. Travel safe. I know those grandkids are counting the sleeps till you get there.
ReplyDeleteYes, it is definitely with mixed feeling was we drove away yesterday! We really have enjoyed our time there, well at least most of the time, lol. Over the last few days we looked back to all the different things that we have done to the park that have made it prettier and better than when we first arrived four years ago. We are certainly going to miss it and all the new friends that we have made there.
DeleteYep, can't wait to see Cameron and Sadie and give them great big hugs. Looking forward to the next few weeks with family and friends.
We've enjoyed your "park" adventure, but looking forward especially to some more travel adventures. Best wishes !!
ReplyDeleteThank you Carol, we are glad that you enjoyed reading about our life at the park of the last four summers.
DeleteWe have to admit that we prefer to write about our actual travels though and we sure will have some fun adventures over the next year.
On to the next episode of your life. Been following you since Spain. Have a great time and looking forward to reading about your travels.
ReplyDeleteThank you for following along Nora. Hopefully we will be able to convince you to do some RVing over here in North America. Who knows, maybe we can even do a motorhome exchange with you sometime in the future. :-)
DeleteSo excited for you both and wishing you all the best on your next adventure!
ReplyDeleteThank you Brigitte! We are looking forward to our next adventure as well. :-)
