More Saskatchewan scenery...

Well, the park is pretty much empty. I think the last two nights we were the only ones sleeping here overnight, although there are still two trailers here that need to be picked up. Still a few boats kicking around too, but I guess people are hoping for one last boat trip of the season, although the weather for the immediate future doesn't look very promising for that.

But, we did take advantage of yesterday's nice weather!

It was a nice day and we got a phone call from a couple of the locals, Allen and Brenda, who asked if we'd like to go for a boat ride with them.

Sure! It was actually our first time out on the lake this year!

They took us down past the Saskatchewan Landing marina.

RCMP Police boat.

Pricey lakeside homes.

Cliff swallows nest here.

Lots of Canada geese.

 Saskatchewan scenery.

 Allen spotted this bald eagle.

It was quite far away, and I zoomed in but couldn't get the focus quite right. We tried to get closer, but it flew away.

Made it back to the park, and spotted a golden eagle sitting on one of the lamp posts. This is the first year that we've seen several golden eagles about.

Golden eagle.

Thanks for the boat ride Allen and Brenda!

  2. Spoke to my friend who just returned from 7 days on the Queen Mary - New York to Southhampton - very calm but foggy, 3 days in London and flew home.

    1. Wow, I guess your friend just wanted the ride over as their holiday. If it had been us it would have just been a way of getting to England before starting the "holiday".

    1. It was a wonderful boat ride and great company to boot! We saw one other boat on our ride so yep, pretty much had the lake to ourselves.
