Help, if you want to.

As you know, Ruth and I are leading an RV caravan through Mexico this winter, and the company that is operating the caravan is spearheading a small earthquake relief campaign on their own.

On October 5th, Caravanas de Mexico will personally go to Cuernavaca to buy groceries and other Items urgently needed for people suffering the consequences of earthquakes in Morelos State. The area was at the epicenter of the Sept 19 quake and the situation is terrible in several towns such as Jojutla and its surroundings.

They will make lists of the most needed items and deliver them at the official Centro de Acopio in Cuernavaca. They will document the operation with photos and invoices of what they buy with the donated funds. Caravanas de Mexico is also donating corporate funds.

Any help is welcome, they just need to know how much they want to give: $ 20, 50, 100 USD or CAD to help our Mexican people who in many cases lost all they had...

We can do something to help them to heal their pain and sorrow. At least this way, you know that everything you donate is going directly to the people who need it, with none of it going toward big charity overhead costs.

Mexico has been good to us. We don't mind giving back at times like this.

  1. I mentioned donating money on your FB page. Our centros de acopio are overwhelmed with donations. Now, just like in Puerto Rico, it's the distribution of goods. People need cash for construction materials and temporary shelters. Some people are against it saying the money won't get to the people. It depends on where you decide to donate. Good on you guys for doing this.

    1. Thanks Chris! We think what the Caravan owner is doing for the quake victims is great and it is nice to see that the money and supplies will be going directly to the people themselves.

    1. I am told that any donations that arrive after October 5th they will pass on to a relief agency or see if they can use them someplace they are needed along the route they take during the fall trip.

  4. We have personal friends in Puerto Vallarata area, who bring whatever is donated to earthquake area in small trucks. Was told many large trucks were "diverted"; not made delivery. This is same great group of Canadian folks who run the volunteer food bank for Bucerias & La Cruz area. Always helping fulfill the need, not only food, medical needs/equipment, school supplies, senior needs, clothing, etc! They also give back 100% - no corp overhead :) If anyone wants to donate, after Oct 5th - IF Kevin & Ruth approve, could provide their contact info. They have donation acct set up esp for Canadians & US to donate (its run by Canadians) but not paypal. They've also been doing music/food fund raisers in PV area.

    1. Thank you for your kind offer Pat but for now we will just keep the donations to the link Kevin included. We have already been told that if they receive additional donations after Oct. 5th they will sure that those donations will be also be passed along to those in need. BTW, they personally went down and hand delivered the supplies to the local folks on Oct. 5th.

If people would like to connect with you then they can click on your name and contact you through that.
