And it's amazing how much stuff you can get rid of!
And of course it makes a difference in a motorhome (or any RV for that matter!) because you want to keep the weight down as much as possible. So you don't want to be carrying around stuff that you don't use. We sorted through that for a while and we tried really hard to not be too selective. I mean, if you haven't used it in three or four years, you probably don't need it to begin with.
Nothing really big is being discarded, but when you have seven decks of cards, when perhaps two will do... well, you know what I mean.
And, we bought some new blackout curtains for the bedroom. On sale at Giant Tiger (a Canadian discount store) for $10 and $6 per panel, plus the curtain rods and tax the total came to about $50. Not bad. Now we need the use of a sewing machine to get them to fit properly!
Ruth and Lindsey took Chester out for a walk. Definite fall chill in the air yesterday, and down to freezing overnight last night however they're calling for an abnormally warm weekend coming up.
Is that a horse?
Nope, just Chester the dog.
Chester and Lindsey.
Chester is 11 months old and 120 lbs.
Fall colors.
The leaves are late changing color this year. They had an abnormally wet, cool summer here, and then an abnormally warm fall that is still continuing despite the chill in the air yesterday.
Time is flying... only 8 days left!

Nice discount on this portable propane fire pit...
And in Canada...
Boy do I hear ya on the downsizing! We,at this moment, are trying to downsize from our 5th wheel to our truck camper.
ReplyDeleteYep, that would be a bit of a task, especially because you will be gone for a while and you will be going to different countries. You should however be able to find what you need just at a higher price.
DeleteThat is a good thing to take care of, purging, we like to do that on an ongoing basis, One in, one out.
ReplyDeletePurging means getting get rid of stuff to reduce what you already have, whereas one in, one out is just keeping the same amount of stuff but that still helps to keep the clutter down and is a good practice to follow. :-)
DeleteBeautiful header photo!
ReplyDeleteThank you, the colours were just about perfect in this spot.
DeleteI've got a sewing machine if you need one :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Judith but it is a little out of the way. We will figure something out.
DeleteDog, I thought that was a moose lol
ReplyDeleteWell maybe not a moose but definitely a pony! ;-)
DeleteI know exactly what you mean by getting rid of stuff
ReplyDeleteLuckily we really don't have much to get rid of!
DeleteBeautiful fall colors!
ReplyDeleteIn the beginning of our travels, our rule was...One in; One out. That lasted about a good two years. Not sure where we went wrong...hehe
It is sometimes hard especially when they keep coming out with all these wonderful new "must have" items. Thankfully we don't fall for that too much. ;-)
DeleteStuff is the vain of an RVer's life style:)
ReplyDeleteAgreed!
DeleteWe are not even half-timers or full-timers, and for some reason, our RV tool box with wrenches and screw drivers keep reproducing. Could start a hardware store.
ReplyDeleteLuckily Kevin doesn't seem to have that problem with his tools.
DeleteWhether in an RV, stay-put house, or a yacht, we all seem to collect stuff. We're now in a getting-rid-of-stuff mode. And, good news for you guys, we'll be happy to share!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tree color!
Yes you are right, luckily we are very good about going through our "stuff" on a regular basis and even going through Sherman this time we aren't finding too much to remove, still even a little bit helps.
