Chester the dog

We stuck around Lindsey and Justin's house for the day, with the exception of taking Chester the dog for a nice long walk. Lindsey went with Sadie on a kindergarten school field trip, and of course Justin was working all day. With the kids in school until 2:30pm or so, we had a nice relaxing day with just us and the big dog.

Chester is a male rottweiler and he's almost a year and a half old. He weighs 130 lbs. He's a big friendly dog. With big jowls. He's a bit slobbery sometimes!

The trilliums are out. The trillium is Ontario's provincial flower.

Old rail line turned into a multi use path.

Ruth is saying "Chester, look at the camera!"

Chester and I had an afternoon nap!

Cameron came home from school.

Lindsey and Justin took advantage of the fact that Grandma and Grandpa are visiting, and they took off to downtown Ottawa for date night. Ruth and I looked after the kids and we had movie night. I downloaded "The Love Bug" for them from 1968 with Dean Jones. We made some popcorn and enjoyed the movie with the kids!

    it is so nice to be Gamma and Grandpa and also granddad and Grandma to the granddog.. Enjoy the time before heading out again.

      A good old fashioned family movie. Walt Disney sure made some good ones back then.

      Yes, kids really grow fast, one of many reasons that we wanted to make it back to see the family even if it is just for a short time.

      We always remembered back when we had kids how much we appreciated someone watching the kids so we could go away overnight, and we always said that we will happily do that for our kids when they have children. We are standing up to that, plus is just gives us some good old Grandma and Grandpa time with just them.

      Well you would love Chester then. He is a perfect specimen of a Rottweiler if there ever was one, plus he is just the most gentle dog there is, he just loves to be loved. :-)

      We start heading north next week when we return to the motorhome in Saskatoon.
