We had a visitor!

Spring cleanup continues here at the park. We've been really lucky with the weather, probably the best early May that we've ever experienced here.

We had a visitor the other day! It was a little bit funny, because neither one of us recognized her. She started off by saying "You probably don't remember me..."

And it was true!

Sandy, and her then husband Daryl (sp?) had been campers at what was then our favorite RV Park in Mexico, Hacienda Contreras. But we haven't seen Sandy since then... probably 2012? And Daryl wasn't with her and he's really tall, so we might have recognized them if they were together. Anyhow, we haven't seen her for a long time, but she's a regular reader of this blog. So she was visiting and decided to take a drive out to the park to say hi!

We like getting visitors!

Sandy, Kevin, and Ruth.

So we had a nice visit, but then it was time to get back to work!

Making progress with the leaves.

Before.

After.

While Ruth and Jo were doing leaves, Steve was working on moving an electrical and water post to make what had been five tight RV spots into four decent sized ones.

And I was playing on the tractor doing some road maintenance!

Driving the tractor!

Filling up some ruts that had been caused by the snow melt.

I went for a walk this morning to take some photos. I came across some big moose footprints that definitely weren't there yesterday. I ended up walking the whole park looking for this moose, but I think it has probably carried on north up the shoreline.

Looking north up Lake Diefenbaker.

Directly across from the park.

Almost ready for campers!

    1. They never moved out of Canada. They were simply snowbirds, camping in Mexico the way we do.

    1. We always enjoy getting visitors no matter where we are. We were happy to see Sandy again, just wish we weren't quite so busy so that we could have had a proper visit with her.

  3. Some of your photos show the double-wide mobile home you and Ruth lived in is still there. Has the park board made any decision regarding what to do with it and/or the space?

    1. Yes, the trailer is still here at the park. They did try to sell it last year but I guess they didn't get any bites on it. The couple that are looking after the concession this summer will be staying in it and possibly taking it with them when they leave at the end of the season. If that happens, the park would like to put in a mini-putt course in the empty space.

    1. It is certainly starting to look a lot better than it did at the start of the week. Still lots to do and hopefully we are able to get a lot of it done before we leave.

We have been very lucky with the weather. :-)

  7. The Saskatchewan landscape reminds me of the Nebraska Sand Hills, which are basically grass-covered dunes. There seems to be a serenity in landscape like that.

    1. It is also very similar to parts of Wyoming and Montana. We kept commenting on that as we were driving through those states. We agree there is something about this type of landscape that is special. It has certainly grown on us over the last 5 years.
