But we're still in Ottawa area! So we'll take the day Tuesday to drive back to Ruth's sister's place in Hamilton, and then spend the night there before heading to drop off the rental car and then to the Hamilton airport for our Swoop flight to Abbotsford.
We're actually going to take a bit of a different route tomorrow from Ottawa to the other side of Toronto. Normally, most people would take highway 401, which runs right through Toronto. But it's not a scenic drive, and you've got to fight with the heavy truck traffic. And then, you've got to work your way through 16 lanes of Toronto mayhem. It's as bad as being on a busy Interstate!
So in Kevin and Ruth fashion, we're going to take our time and go the scenic route! We're not in any rush, and we've got all day to do the drive. And, it's only about 75 kms (47 miles) further. Well worth it, in our opinion.
Our drive tomorrow.
And, it looks like we're getting out of town just in time! They're calling for below freezing temperatures in this area by Wednesday!

And in Canada...
Looks like you have changed the route since yesterday! (Renfrew - Bancroft)
ReplyDeleteYep, just a little bit.
DeleteThat is a beautiful drive we have done it a few times over the years to visit relatives in Ottawa.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the scenery.
We are looking forward to the drive! :-)
DeleteThe scenic drive is a much better choice, I remember well the Toronto mayhem when I tried to live there in the 80s. After 18 months I went back to beautiful BC. Have a safe drive to Hamilton!
ReplyDeleteIt's not only the Toronto traffic but it is the boring and busy drive along the 401 with a ton of big trucks, we just don't enjoy that drive much. We are looking forward to this less hurried pace and the nicer scenery going the back way.
DeleteWe always like taking the scenic routes as well. Much better than all that traffic. Guess you will both be glad to get back to Sherman and on with your next adventure. Stay safe!
ReplyDeleteYeah, the 401 and the Toronto traffic just don't appeal to us anymore.
DeleteWe are looking forward to getting back to Sherman but we have also really enjoyed our visit here and we have found that the time seems to have gone much too fast. We will certainly miss the family, especially our children and grandchildren.
What a nice picture of Chester and Sadie.
ReplyDeleteI love the picture. Lindsey took it last week when she was up visiting.
DeleteNothing but sunshine in BC!
ReplyDeleteThat is good to hear! :-)
DeleteOur first cold front came in this afternoon. 9C right now and colder tonight with some light rain. Keep warm!
ReplyDeleteThe temperatures look better in the Vancouver area so it looks like we are getting out at a good time because this morning is definitely a chilly one out there.
DeleteWe hope it doesn't get too chilly down in Monterrey, we will be there in 6 weeks time. :-)
Looks like a route we would take when we aren't towing.
ReplyDeleteChester was making certain Sadie was safe.
Be Safe and Enjoy!
It's about time.
We would take this route any time even in the motorhome. We really hate the busy truck protect traffic on the 401.
DeleteChester loves Sadie, and she loves him! :-)
Adorable pic of Sadie and Chester!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Connie and Barry! :-)
