Hanging out with the grandkids

Our daughter Lindsey and her husband Justin were headed back to the city, but grandkids Cameron and Sadie wanted to stay with grandma and grandpa! That's fine with us, so we spent the afternoon with them, and brought them to their parents again at my sister's place before dinner.

But, they did take Chester the dog with them!

Chester is such a good boy... but he weighs 135 lbs! Problem is, he doesn't know he weighs 135  lbs... and he thinks he's a lap dog. So when he tries to crawl up onto you it's a little much.

Ruth with Chester.
Look at the size of his head compared to Ruth's hand.

Anyhow, they took Chester with them and left us with the kids. We went for a walk down to the river to see how the water was doing.

Still lots of water!

Surprised these trees haven't washed away.

Cameron decided he wanted to wear great grandpa's shirt.

The water has come down a little.
It peaked on Saturday.

When we drove into the city late afternoon, we stopped at a park and played with the kids.

They love climbing!

Went to my sister's for dinner and forgot to take any photos! Will get some more next time were together.

Today, the sun is shining and they are calling for a high of 18C (64F). Beautiful spring day. We'll take it!

    1. Yes, they sure are growing fast, we are so happy to be back here spending so time with them. :-)

The water is very high, I think the last time it was this high was back in 1999 or so and then again in 1972 or so. Luckily my dad's house is on high ground so we don't have to worry about it flooding.

  2. The water is so high there...flooding in Quebec too. I hope it's nowhere near your Dad or daughters house

    1. Yes, it is very high but it looks like it has reached its peak and is slowly receding. My Dad's house isn't all that far away from the flooding in Quebec but not quite close enough and his house is on a different river. The Mississippi River flows into the Ottawa River which is only about 3 kilometres away and it is the Ottawa River that is having some of the major flooding problems. Our daughter's house is totally away from the water, so she has no worries. :-)
