A great source of emergency internet access for travel

We're only half way through the year and we've already been in six countries. And when you travel as much as we do, one of the most important things is access to the internet. We normally buy a SIM card when we arrive in a country, but there are times when it's either not convenient or we arrive at an oddball hour and it's not possible to get internet access right away.

So a company called Keepgo has come out with a fantastic, convenient product for worldwide travelers to be able to access the internet.

And it's available either as a stand alone portable wifi hotspot, or as a SIM card for an unlocked smartphone.

We chose the portable mobile hotspot...

Here's what's in the box!

Your package will include:
  • Mobile Hotspot
  • Keepgo Data SIM
  • Rechargable Li battery
  • Micro USB cable
  • Manuals

You do need to register your device right away, but do not actually turn it on and use it until you really need to. Here's the thing... your device comes with 1GB of data... and it is usable in over 120 countries around the world when you have cellular access. However, it expires one year after the first use. Then, every time you refill your data, you reset the clock for another year. And, if you do a refill once per year, your data will never expire.

And it is seamless. Under normal circumstances, if you are in any of those 120 countries, the device will connect as soon as you turn it on.

For us, this is a great source of emergency internet access for travel. It's not cheap, but you pay for the convenience. And for us, the convenience is worth it when our lives depend so much on both travel and internet access.

The other way to purchase the product is just buying the less expensive Keepgo SIM card. This way, you can just insert it into your unlocked cell phone, and get onto the internet using your own smartphone device. It's a little bit cheaper to buy that instead of the hotspot device, but the hotspot is more convenient for us when we have several devices to connect. And, carrying around a tiny SIM card may not be ideal because it could be easily misplaced.

Keepgo has supplied us with a special link just for your use.

Just follow this link and you will get 10% off your purchase. And, we will get 300MB of free data added to our account. We both win!

They have experienced, helpful customer service reps available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. By phone, email, or live chat should you ever have problem, question, or concern.

As the included paperwork says "We love our customers and strive to keep you satisfied especially when things don’t turn out the way you expect."

  2. Not sure what you guys ended up using mainly for your data and mobile sim in Austrailia? When we were there last month though you cant beat the deal that Boost mobile was giving. For 40 bucks you get 45GB of data and unlimited calls and texts to just about anywhere. We called freinds and family back in Canada and talked as long as we wanted. Here is a link if you want to check it out https://boost.com.au/

Not sure if you remember me from the park in Cabri, but really enjoying reading your Austrailia adventures. Wish we could have stayed there as long as you two!!
