Lots of jelly blubber in this area!

It seems we're into a stretch of decent weather. No rain in the forecast to speak of. Plus... we're on holiday, staying at a well equipped holiday RV park for 4 nights in a row.

They have a nice boardwalk that goes part way around the lake. So we went for a walk this morning, hoping to accomplish the entire loop.

But, they don't make it easy!

Another sunny day.
A bit of a brisk wind, even though it doesn't look like it in this photo.

This lake has a lot of odd jellyfish things!

A juvenile White-bellied sea eagle.

Part of our path went along the beach.

And then, we had to try and make our way between the sand bar that separates the lake from the ocean. There are a couple of big expensive homes and properties up that way, but we found a gate that didn't have any "private property" or "no trespassing" signs on it, and made our way to a lane that brought us back to town. Worse case scenario, we would have pleaded that we are just tourists and we were lost! But, it never came to that and nobody bothered us.

Kangaroos!

Looking back at the Richie Rich property we had come from.

More kangaroos!

There are tons of these jellyfish in the lagoon!

They are actually called a jelly blubber!

I took a video for you...

The Australian black swan has a bright red beak!

Ruth is doing a roast leg of lamb in our camper oven tonight. We love the fact that she cooks exactly the same meals in a small camper as we would normally cook in a regular house! Boy, it smells great!

  1. I had no idea there were freshwater jellyfish! Good to know although it seems (via google) only primarily in Australia/China

    1. Yes, there are some freshwater jellyfish and yes, mostly in Australia and parts of Asia, however this lake isn't always a freshwater lake because at times it does open up to the open up to the ocean depending on the ocean currents and the weather in the area, it is actually considered a lagoon but most people here call it a lake.

  2. I can smell that leg of lamb clear to Phoenix lol. I grew up eating lamb and mutton. My fav is mutton corn stew. Lovely beach scenery and the birds are so colorful.

    1. It was delicious, but we forgot to take a picture of it. My parents (Ruth) were from Britain and lamb or mutton were eaten a lot. So we love having a good roast every now and again but back home they are always so expensive.

Yep, there are definitely a lot of kangaroos here in Australia, we didn't realize how abundant they were until we got here.

    1. They might think we are tourists but we think of ourselves as travellers and we always know right where we are, but the odd time we might not know where we are going. ;-)

  5. Haha, when I read the title of your post I thought you might have hit upon an area with a lot of overweight folks! But then I realized that you two would never be that rude to call them names. Glad to see that I was right about that! :)

    1. Lol, no not even close! To be honest on an overall basis we find Australians to be in pretty good shape overall. It seems like there are a lot of people out on bicycles, walking their dogs, swimming, surfing and hiking. :-)
