Last night was in fact our "last night"!

Our last night sleeping in our Australia camper, that is.

Does anybody else think that two and a half months went by really fast?! Man, it's a good thing we always have another adventure around the corner... wouldn't want to get bored or anything!

Today (Tuesday), we had to drive into Sydney.

Sydney, Australia is a big city. The metro population is just over five million people.

We are now located just southwest of Sydney airport, and about 16 kms (10 miles) from downtown and the famous Sydney Opera House.

It's a really good location, a two minute walk from the train station, and a short train ride to the airport for when we leave Australia next Monday.

We had a good day! Here is how it went...

Scenery along the way.

That house on the right has a good view.

It's really kind of funny, but we had a long driving day today... a whole 90 kms (55 miles) or so! And we stopped three different times for a break!

This looks like it should be a good overnight spot.

Except for one thing...

They have too many rules.

I guess you could park here overnight in a car. There is nothing advising against that!

That's the problem when you get close to the cities. The free camping pretty much disappears.

Nice view looking south at where we had come from.

Instead of using the main highway into Sydney, we chose the much slower coastal route that included driving through Royal National Park. Not really much to photograph along the way, but with hardly any traffic it was surely better than the main highway.

We made our way to the suburb of Kogarah where our Airbnb rental is located.

Turns out that it's a great choice!

The cottage was built in 1890. Just a simple one bedroom, surrounded by a few more modern small apartment buildings.

Our home for the next six nights,

It has a beautiful little garden in the front where we can catch some afternoon sunshine while playing backgammon and having a drink or two.

That's where we were sat.

Tomorrow (Wednesday) afternoon we hand over the keys to the new owner of the rig. Pretty sure we will just relax here for the next day and then head out to do some exploring of the city.

    1. Yep, it sure does! It really doesn't feel like we have been here for since the end of May but when we look back at our pictures we realize just how much we have seen in that short amount of time. It has been an great adventure.

If you put your mind to it, you can make anything happen, we are proof of that! :-)

    1. I am sure that Kevin will be writing all about it once our time here in Australia is over. We sure did have a good time though and looking back on it all, we saw a lot without having to travel a huge distance. It will take us years to make our way around this big country. We really think that you and Juan should come here for a visit, we know that you both would love it. :-)

    1. We are really enjoying our Airbnb, it is just a nice size for us, we sure won't need any more space than this. It is also in a great neighbourhood and is very quiet.

We hope you can make it to some of these places too, we are glad that you enjoyed our adventures here in Australia. :-)

  9. Interesting that there wasn't a car on the sign. The way they stop it all in Scotland is a sign saying no parking between 3am and 4am Simple but effective as the fishermen arrive later.

    1. We were quite surprised too, that they didn't include a car on their sign, seeing that we saw a fair number of people doing just that over our 2 1/2 months of traveling. Many places just posted a sign saying no tents or overnight parking or sleeping in any vehicle. Sounds like Scotland's method would work, providing that they enforce it.
