Ten years ago today...

Well, fall is definitely in the air today. With an overcast high of 10C (50F), it certainly feels like we have turned the corner. Fortunately, our time here is almost done and we will soon be at the equator!

We are at our daughter's house looking after the grandkids and Chester the dog. Of course the kids are in school all day, so we get to take Chester for some walks.

This morning, we took him along one of the old rail line paths...

Ruth and Chester.

Chester.
He looks tough doesn't he? But he's just a big suck.

Ten years ago today we were up at Ruth's father's house having a wedding! That's why our daughter and her husband Justin have gone off to the Big Apple... they are celebrating their 10th wedding anniversary.

10 years ago today.
Happy Anniversary Lindsey and Justin.

Pretty sure they are enjoying their first time in NYC.

  2. That is one big dog. They are lucky that you are there to sit for the kids and the dog. I am sure they appreciate it!

    1. PS love the picture of Zihua...just checked my phone and we've got 119 days to go before we get back to that beautiful town. Other than Mazatlan I don't think we've ever gotten so comfortable so fast before in Mexico. I just love the real-life ness of Zihua if that makes sense. One of our favorite evenings last trip was watching a high school basketball playoff on the Malecon after supper.

    2. They normally know ahead of time when we are coming back so they check with us to see if we are ok babysitting the grandkids and animals so that they have have time away together. We don't mind, it is part of being a grandparent and I know that we always appreciated having our kids looked after when they were young so that we could get away for a small holiday on our own every once in a while. :-)

Zihuatanejo is a nice little town but there are still too many expats and tourists there for our liking but it does have a nice feel to it and it is so much better than say Cancun,Puerto Vallarta or Mazatlan. We have watched basketball games at that court along the malecon as well. :-)

    1. You are right we aren't all that far away and we would have loved to have taken you up on your offer but with only one week left and we have run out of any extra time to take that drive down. Maybe we could take you up on that offer the next time we are both back in Ontario. We will see you in Mexico this winter though. :-)

    1. Thank you! We love spending time with the grandchildren and because we don't have as many opportunities with all our travel we like to make the most of our time with them when we are back in town. :-)
