We woke up to blue sky and sunshine and it continued that way the whole day. With a high of about 66F (19C) and no wind, it was a perfect day for a hike!
Garner State Park has a good system of hiking trails. There are a lot of short trails, but they all run into each other so it's easy to choose whatever length of hike you would like to do. We picked out a route, and set off at just after 11:00am.
Just as we got onto the trails we saw this fellow...
He didn't seem bothered by us. Pretty used to people in the park.
At an overlook.
Enjoying the view.
Looking up at Old Baldy.
We climbed Old Baldy when we were here in April 2018.
This was on Bell Trail.
Another viewpoint.
You can see the trail going up Old Baldy on the right.
We ended up doing just over 6 miles (10 kms).
Back for a late lunch and then we had planned on doing a bike ride but I got caught up on some computer stuff and before we knew it the day had disappeared. I also put together a big Amazon order to be delivered to the RV park that we are meeting the group at in Alpine, TX.
Ruth's bike needs a new front tire, but we have it here with us so I will install that this morning and then we will go for a bike ride before heading out of here around noon hour.

Nice price drop on Camco's 50 Foot 30 Amp RV Extension Cord.
And in Canada...
Now that is a beautiful day.
ReplyDeleteIt sure was and we loved it! :-)
DeleteTypical for Texas, the weather can change from one minute to the next. Cold fronts are now on their way.
ReplyDeleteAt the moment the weather is all over the map! Looking forward to getting into Mexico and seeing all that sunshine. :-)
