A relaxing day by the lake

After such a busy day on Monday, Tuesday was a bit of a relax day. I did some planning for our future stops and got caught up on some computer work in the morning.

The newer people in our group took off into Valle de Bravo to do some exploring, while the others walked into nearby El Arco to pick up some things.

Friends Paco and Oti invited us to come for lunch with them to have some birria, so we hopped in their truck. This birria was done a little differently where you could order just a bowl of broth and the meat for the broth was served in tacos and you just put some of that meat in the broth. Once again, delicious.

Afterwards, they suggested we visit Casa De Oración Carmel Marantha... "a place for meditation and contemplative prayer". Yes, it's a religious compound, but one with nice gardens and many people just go there for some peace and quiet. Paco says that it's actually quite busy on Saturdays and Sundays, but yesterday there has hardly anybody around.

Us!

The chapel.

Interesting spot, and worth a visit.

Back at the marina...

We are parked in the front grass area.

Sherman's spot.
Monday's hail is long gone.

The view out our front window.

We had a couple of rousing games of LCR at happy hour yesterday. Bob won the first game, and Ruth won the second game. That was Ruth's 3rd win so far this winter!

Sunset at Lago Avandaro.

Today, some of us are headed back to see the butterflies... this time at Cerro Pelon. Weather conditions look perfect, but you never know... fingers crossed!

    1. Thank you Karyn-Lee, and yes it is a beautiful place.

LCR is Left, Center, Right and it is a dice game that is really fun with a big group of people. We don't play it at every Happy Hour but maybe every fourth or fifth one. Just Google "LCR game" and you will find it.
