Beach day - Playa Ventura

Just getting caught up on some blog posts since we didn't have decent internet while at Playa Ventura. In case you missed it, I posted one last night...

So, we made the decision to spend an extra day at Playa Ventura. It's a pretty quiet place midweek, and everybody enjoyed a relax day.

First thing, we said goodbye to Ken and Janna. This is a couple from Vernon, British Columbia who have been blog readers for a long time and our paths finally crossed. They stopped in at Playa Ventura for one night just to say hello.

Ken, Janna, and their pup Tikaani.

We'll probably see them again over the next several weeks as they are doing a route similar to ours.

Ruth and I went for a walk in the morning. If you wait until after 10:00am in gets too hot...

We crawled up some big rocks to get the views above. While up there, some of the rocks had formed big shaded areas almost like caves, and there were bats living there!

We relaxed in the shade for the afternoon overlooking the beach. Watched for whales and dolphins but other than a couple of sighting of whales far out we didn't have much luck.

A bunch of us decided it was too hot to cook, so we went out for a meal. Again! It's so easy to eat out in Mexico because the food is delicious and it's relatively inexpensive to do so.

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus.

Ruth found a little kitten to play with.

His eyes are two different colors!

Ha... psycho cat!

Roger, Mona, Aron, Ruth, and Owenita.

Another great day in Mexico. The group really liked Playa Ventura. I think if we do this again we'll have to plan four nights there!

And in Canada...

    1. Thanks Elaine. We were quite surprised to see them in amongst the rocks like that.

  2. Hey, we know Ken and Janna. Had last heard they were in Zihua, there are no secrets with travelers.

    1. Yep they were in Zihuatanejo but they now they are heading further south. I guess you saw them when they were at La Peñita?

  3. Oh, the bats are cool. Great photos! There is a cat with one blue, one green eye like your kitten there who has become an internet sensation, but not sure where I saw this. I guess it's more common than I realized!

    1. They sure were interesting. We never thought that we would find bats in amongst these rocks beside the ocean, that is for sure.

This kitten was just so cute and full of mischief, he/she had no fear, lol! :-)
