Highlights of a fantastic four months touring Mexico... part 1

Not much going on here at the Las Palmas Hotel and RV Park where we have been holed up for the past week. No point in just writing about the same things day after day, so I thought we might review what has been a fantastic four months touring Mexico.

We crossed into Mexico at Presidio, Texas and into the state of Chihuahua.

The state of Chihuahua has many things worth visiting, but the first thing on our list was the magnificent Basaseachic Falls...

And, from the bottom looking up!

Of course we did some things along the way, but our next worthwhile stop was the Copper Canyon. Highlight #2 was the Copper Canyon train...

And while the train ride itself was great, highlight #3 was the canyon itself...

The group... on the edge!

Hiking in the Copper Canyon.

And of course you can't go to the Copper Canyon without doing one of the longest zip lines in the world...

There I go!

Highlight #4 was the odd rock formations at Mexiquillo.

Highlight #5 was driving the old Devil's backbone highway from Durango to Mazatlan.

Highlight #6 was Christmas Dinner in Valle de Juarez.
Here's Larry, about to enjoy some tequila!

Highlight #7 was the church buried in lava by the Paricutin Volcano.

Everyone enjoyed highlight #8, the monarch butterfly wintering grounds.

Highlight #9, paragliding at Valle de Bravo.

Highlight #10, sailing with Captain Chago at Valle de Bravo.

Mexico has so much to offer. That's the reason we keep coming back. Between all of these events, there has also been interaction with the Mexicans themselves... probably our favorite part of the whole experience... and of course next to that is the food.

Highlight #10 is only half way through the trip... stay tuned for part 2!

    1. Thank you Doug and Nancy! It was a great trip, just wish we could have spent the last two weeks of this trip doing some more amazing things but it wasn't meant to be. We will have to come back and finish it off right after this is all over.

      Take care you guys!
